My 4 player SunsetRiders was plugged in and working fine until the game stopped playing. The monitor was still on, but it was a black screen with lines running horizontal. The noise coming out of it was a clicking noise. After that, i turned it off and then turned it back on. No power to anything. A fuse blew. I replaced the fuse, turned on the machine. It powered on, but I still got the black screen with horizontal lines and the clicking noise coming from the speaker. Can anyone help me? Thanks

I would start by determining if it was something wrong with the board or with the power supply/cabinet.

Check the voltages from your power supply with a multimeter. If they check out good, try another JAMMA board in the cabinet if you have one. Also, if you have another JAMMA cabinet available, try the Sunset Riders in it.

Beyond that advice, there are too many variables to give you more specific information.

Brian.

I have tried different boards, but i have not tried the multimeter. Thanks

Did the other boards boot and work without issue?

If they did, then your power supply is probably good. I wouldn't hurt to make sure, though.

If they didn't, you have an issue with your cabinet.

I looked at one of these today that they thought the monitor was bad on, and it turned out the board wasn't booting properly. Turns out some chips had creeped in their sockets and not making good connection. Once I reseated them, the board booted and played fine...

Yup, could be that. by "horizontal" lines, can you explain better or take a picture? Is it the actual game image chopped up in jagged lines, or is it just fine white or some other color lines?

Best thing though would be to check the power voltage at the actual game board, let us know if it's getting the 5volt to the pcb.

Thanks everyone for the help. I replaced the power supply and the game booted up 1st time. It's great to have it back.
