What have you accomplished this year? Since January 1st, I have fully restored, or wrapped up the restorations of 4 macheens. 8 months, 4 macheens (and one fuck up that is still sitting on the back burner). My new baby will be here soon, so I think I may be done with this shit for a while. I would just like to thank all of the guys who are still out there restoring these pieces of our childhood, and all the guys who still care that they are doing so.

The restoration year in review:

I love the recap pics all in a row. Very inspiring!

I've restored a total of ZERO. Well, technically- 1/2. My MultiWilliams should be done before October...

That looks very promising. Love the Candy Corn colors. Halloween's right around the corner.

Great work Phet. What camera do you use, I've noticed many of your shots are super f'n clean, especially the offset t-molding macro shots.

With the exception of unwrapping a brand new Tron LE pinball this past weekend, it has been SLOW GOING on the refurbishment front. Partly because of the workload at the office, partly because of the heat (which is now going away) and MOSTLY because I still haven't moved my billiards table setup out of the game room. Once that is "out" the pressure will be on to finish my projects in the workshop. I'd have to say that I am about 75% finished with the Outrun 2 twin setup that I have flash converted to the "SP" special stages version. I am probably about the same 75% done with the Neo Geo dedicated 4 slot as well. I have just been waiting for my tech friend to bring me the monitor chassis back for that one. The Daytona USA 2 that I am converting into a Sega Rally 2 is still "untouched", as is the Ferrari F355 twin and the Namco "Quick and Crash" light gun target game. Once I get the billiards table out, which takes up a good 18 X 14 foot section of the game room (which covers a LOT of wall space), then I will kick things into high gear...

And I am working on restoring a Joust right now. Should be done by October.

Going to be doing some Bondo on it tonight.

Thanks man. I now use a Sony 19.8 MP. The PC and the Rampage pics were taken with that one. I used to use an Olympic 12 MP and a Samsung 10 MP.

I have finished my Gameroom and started filling it with games. I guess during the winter I will work on fixing PCB's and monitors.

All my JAMMA games need cabinet work, coin doors repainted, etc. I've only done little things here and there this summer. Extensive restoration work is put on hold when summer weekends are jam packed with family activities. I'm not one to stay up late into the night working on stuff. I'm definitely not going to sand inside my garage. :)

The last thing I did was restore my SFII:WW and Double Dragon control panels:

The custom Dr. Mario

Mario Bros.

Wow... I am working on a custom Dr. Mario (my girlfriends favorite game...) and had similar plans. So I must ask, where did you get that sweet custom bezel?! Awesomeness...

Little things here and there. Fixed up a South Park pin and my Escape ft Planet ot Robot Monsters. Capped probably 5 monitors. Tore into a FunHouse pin (current project), bought a nice Millipede donor cab. Sold some stuff, gave some stuff away. Accumulated (ok fine, hoarded) extra art sets and parts for almost all my games while I can afford to. No major woodworking or intensely homoerotic paint jobs or anything of that magnitude.

Gorf cabaret - all it needed was a cap kit. Incredible original condition game.

Worked on my T2 pinball. Just need to install the new DMD and replace one burned out connector. Did a lot of work to this game but it looks good. Definitely a players machine. I also put in a new hunter killer w/light mod.

Other minor things to Mario Bros WB, Battlezone, Qbert, Asteroids Deluxe, and a few others.

It's been slow going this year. Too much work. Too much heat. Too many other distractions. Too much accumulation. Too many back problems.

I've managed to accumulate a lot of artwork for projects downline. Fixed a lot of other people's boards (still have a lot to go). Rebuilt a Joust and a Stargate. Accumulated a Black Widow (thanks Greg!). Accumulated all the parts to rebuild a Cyclone pin. Mostly finished rebuilding a 60n1 multicade machine for a neighbor. Got the gameroom populated, now just need to work out the power issues (pics once I get my lazy a** motivated to post them)....
