I have a cap com game and I think the battery has done dead. Is it as simple as putting a new battery in or do you have to get it rebooted also

If it is a CPS2 game, you need to burn a Phoenix Edition ROM set for the particular game and install them. Once you do that, it will run without the battery at all (still remove the battery, though). Replacing the battery will only prevent it from suicide, it won't bring it back.

I seem to recall that even some CPS1 games had suicide batteries, but I know nothing about dealing with that.

CPS1 games with Qsound I believe. Saturday Night Slam Masters is what comes to mind.

I charge $25 labor, 25 Euros for the code, and shipping to phoenix a CPS2 cart.
