I have been having some issues with my Stern Magic Pinball recently and asked on here what I should do. I did what I could but still am having issues. Is it better to send my board away to a place like The Coin-Op Cauldron to get repaired or is it better to buy one of those new Ultimate MPU's?

sorry about that...yes i tried what i knew how to do, plus had a friend come over who knows a little more than me and he agreed with Lindsey that it is the board.

Well, a switch matrix issue could be on the MPU board......but, it could also be a switch diode...or a shorted wire under the playfield. If it happens to be one of these two causing your issue, a new MPU board will not fix your problem.

go to marvin3m.com and follw the instructions. They are clearly written and will take you to the problem. With such a rich and wonderfull resource available, you will be able to find the correct path. So much time and effort went into it, use it

ok where exactly am i supposed to be looking on that page?

Section #2 - Upgrading the ground. A weak ground can cause all sorts of irregularities.

Section 3 - When things don't work - section J sounds like what you should be looking at.

FWIW - everyone of us have been in your shoes. It's not rocket science, it's intimidation.
