I received my TAITO side art stencils in the mail. I've not removed them from their tube and would rather just leave them there until I'm ready to use them.

If I am going to go with Brown/Tan ala Front Line or Elevator Action... what is the base coat, brown or tan?

Tan first, then brown.

BTW, I suggest you lay the stencils flat.

Meaning you suggest I lay the cab down to do each side?

I usually paint while it's standing up, but I can see why one would want to lay it down when applying the paint with the stencils.

Also, I can't seem to find any official brown or tan paint code, so I figured I'd likely just go choose a couple of colors... any other suggestion?

Exactly what I meant. I'd like to see you place those stencils on the cab fresh out of the tube. :D

And yes, laying the cab on the side is the best way to apply the stencils. If you are going to spray the cab, then yes, I too would paint it standing up. If you are going to roll it, I found laying it on its side was much easier.

I'm gunna roll. I don't have the equipment nor the area to spray.

I'll pull the stencils out a day ahead of time and lay them flat.

I would PM Phetishboy all your questions. He stenciled the EXACT cab you are doing, and is always willing to help out.

I've applied my stencils while the cab was standing without much difficulty.

Not this time.
