I bought some new pinballs for my machines. How do I take out the balls that are currently in my machines without hurting myself or the machines? There's a good chance that would happen with me. Thanks.

Some machines, like your Star Wars have an option in the menu to eject the pinballs. You'll find it in the test menu IIRC. And sometimes you can just flip the release and the plunger with your finger and pop the balls up into the trough. And sometimes you can push them back out of the trough with your fingers and pick them up out of the center outhole. I do each method depending on the machine, if it is plugged in, and if I want to mess with finding the option in the menus.

Just coin it up and start a game. When the old ball kicks out into the shooter lane grab it and drain a new ball.Do this till all the old balls have been replaced.

I overlooked the fact that he just wanted to replace the balls. Yes, this would be easy.

On WPC games it's easy - manually activate the plunger that kicks out the pinballs..
With Data East you can't as the whole assembly and plunger is hidden underneath the apron, then you have to switch on the game and either chose 'empty balls' in the menu, or run the coil test and let the eject coil kick until all balls are out on the playfield..

On pretty much any game with a ball trough, I remove the glass, reach in thru the coin door and manually flip the ball plunger up to eject the ball into the shooter lane. On my EMs, there's just one ball in the outlane hole that's easy to grab.

BTW, it's good to remember to remove the balls BEFORE lifting the playfield. Otherwise, balls can roll out and bounce down, potentially damaging something. (Yes, I admit this has happened to me a couple of times.)
