I went to get the postage tonight to ship a couple of items to the UK and the customs forms now want an addressee phone number. I was using the online form 2976 and it wouldn't let me continue until I enter a phone number.

So I had to send off to the buyers to get phone numbers just to fill in on the customs forms. More delay.

GGGGRRRRRRR! I hate forms.

Man that sucks. My brother and I are always laughing about how no matter which form you fill out for our local post office, when you get there, they want you to fill out the other one.

I don't think the good folks in the other countries (even Canada) realize just what a pain in the ass it is to ship something out of the country. Costs a fortune, it's a big pain in the ass, etc.

Sucks too. You'd think they'd make it simple to ship things to countries like Canada or the UK or Australia.

Do it in person. I always leave that blank and they never say anything...

It's nice to have but not required for the UK. I ship there several times a week.

Maybe if you go to the post office or fill out the forms manually, but I was using the online forms and it won't let you go to the next page unless the field is filled out.

That's like our Doctor's office, every visit begins with 10 pages of BS paperwork to fill out on a clipboard. Your address, allergies, emergency contact numbers, on and on. It doesn't matter if you were there last month with a sick kid, they always smile and say, "we're updating our records and need these completed".

It's the paper equivalent of those phone messages that say, "Please listen carefully to all menu options as our options have changed". Only it's the same damn recording year after year, and I'm not going to bother to memorize their menu options and jump ahead of Mr. Recording anyway.

Just an update. Tonight (after I asked for and recieved the phone numbers), I didn't need them. It just went straight through the normal PayPal fill in the info and it printed the customs forms. Now the PitneyBowes app that prints the labels complained that the certificate had expired, so maybe that was the problem last night and they hacked it by forcing peopel over to the USPS site. Whatever, it was a pain in the a**, but I have the boxes addressed and the customs forms printed. So it is off to the post office tomorrow morning.

An explaination would have been nice. [insert grumpy ol' man smilie here]
