I bought a Stunt Cycle from SJFREDDY and am in the middle of fixing it up. I thought you might like a few pictures. The cabinet is in great shape but the inside was very dirty with a nice warehouse smell. I could smell it coming down the stairs. With a good scrubbing and some baking soda the smell is gone.

The monitor is pretty dirty.

The control panel is nice and not scratched.

Nice layer of 37 year old dirt.

More to come.

The correct way for the throttle. Someone had the yellow and red wires reversed and the post on the opposite side of the boss so you had to turn the throttle the wrong direction. It took about 45 minutes with a meter to figure it out. More later

Wow, very nice! The side art looks great. I love the progress pics, keep them coming! Those handlebars look new - I'm assuming lots of elbow grease went into those. Nice owl-eye Asteroids too. ;)

Couple more.

Control Panel after soda blasting. I soda blasted the control panel and the main board holder. It removes the corrosion and paint but leaves the rainbow hue without any pitting.

The bars buffed out as good as possible. There is one small place but it is on the bottom.

Power tray ready to go back in. I go overboard when I get started. I take the wiring harness and cut the zip ties one or two at a time and clean the wires with rubbing alcohol and put those ties back on and take apart two more. I wonder where Cathy is now? I know where she was on 4-5-76

I think this is the first videogame i ever saw. I was pretty young. My dad offered to let me play it, but i was too intimidated to actually try it. I remember being mesmerized just watching the demo mode.

Yours is turning out great! Wish i had one!

Back and top repainted. Unimpressed dog is not impressed.

Unimpressed dog must like six million dollar man.

Stunt Cycle has no on/off switch so I cut a small hole and use the service switch like a on/off switch.

Doubling up the bottom and adding casters

Monitor recapped, I think thats all I am going to do to the monitor. I am going to use the idea of if it aint broke dont fix it.

DSC01354.jpg

Main board recapped except for the big 8000, Bob says use 2 4700's but I think I will wait. The board was much cleaner than the monitor.

Aircraft stripper working on the coin door. The original had one of the coin flaps mising and was bent pretty bad. Got this one from Ebay $5.00 and had the counter that I was missing.

Well a little set back on my new door. Bondo. I am going to use a fill primer to remove the grinder marks and test paint the front and see how it is. The old bondo looks smooth but I am going to have to look real close.

O/K I finished up this weekend. I was not happy with their bondo job so I sanded it off and after a little hammer and dolly work I spread a thin layer and sanded smooth. My new grips from Mylstar just got here, will put them on tonight. Drum roll please.
