I don't know if this is common, so I figured I'd share my experience. I was removing my Centipede monitor, and the sucker wouldn't come out. I'd removed the four front nuts, and the wood screw in the back, but I couldn't pull it at all.

I finally went around to the back, and pried up on the chassis (where it screws into the wood block), and "pop" the chassis came came loose.

In the picture, you can see a slight groove right alongside the wood block. Over the years (or maybe even when it was first installed), the chassis cut into the wood. Plus there was some wood-glue seepage that probably didn't help. In any case, that little groove was enough to make it impossible to pull the monitor out the front. But a tiny bit of upward force popped it out of the groove.
