i am using the Citristrip(like everyone here suggests) on my Atari Football panels and also on my Zaxxon controller! it is taking quite a few layers of stripper all the paint to bubble/peel off. something i'm doing wrong? keeping it outside and dries up pretty quickly, wonder if thats why???

after using this stuff, what do you guys clean with afterwards? wash off with alcohol or something? wanna make sure i clean off metal real good before priming.

thanks

I cleaned my cab off with water and a sponge to get the stripper off then dried it with a towel.
After I sanded the cab and primed it then painted.
There are also neutralizers that you can buy to clean up.

i figured as much using just water but didn't know how long it would take to dry without chances of rusting. i hate using water on bare metal!

also, that citristrip doesn't work after it turns white(dries up) i guess???

No need to worry,it's not going to rust if you dry it right away.

I'm working on finishing up stripping and sanding the paint off my DK JR cab; I too am using Citristrip. The bottle says wait 30 Min to at most 24 hours before stripping, but I found it to work much better when it was still "wet." Took some patience and elbow grease but eventually the paint began to come off.

I first made the mistake of using a foam brush with this stuff, it ate right through the brush and I eventually had black foam chunks all over the sides of my cab >_<. Easily cleaned with a towel though.
