I recently picked up a Kram (Taito) game converted into a Pit Boss (shiver). The Pit Boss marquee looks to be a sticker applied to the back-side of a piece of plexi. It was converted about 30 years ago, so the sticker really can't be classified as such at this point - it has become one with the plexi.

Anyone have any tips for stripping it? I'm thinking of trying out a hair dryer to see if that has any effect at all. Yes, I'm aware that I could just replace the plexi, but that crap is expensive, I don't care about the Pit Boss marquee, and I'm trying to be as cheap as possible on this one.

I don't really know if this would work, but maybe try to remove it with a bit of Goo-Gone.. The stuff helps to break down adhesive without doing damage to the plexi. You could also use try of the stuff they use to remove wallpaper.

Again, I really have no idea, just offering suggestions. I would try to keep away from heat (hair dryer/heat gun) as even a little bit of concentrated heat could cause the plexi to warp or bubble.

You could maybe try some brake fluid - I know it works on paint and doesn't harm plastic, maybe it will attack the glue - other than that maybe try a sign shop for some of their adhesive remover.
