Strip a Tempest for a multigame ? Really ?!!!

Not that I'd do it :( but he didn't mention a monitor, or a game pcb, so it was probably already converted to something else. I've seen some pretty bad Tempest conversions, it's pretty sad because they have that unique cabinet so you can see them a mile away.

When you're talking about a stripped cabinet, it's usually cheaper to buy a nice working game than round up the monitor, boardset, etc..

<soapbox>
Building Multigames from functional games is just going to result in the premature death of this hobby for some short term profit.

Kinda sad..

This person obviously needs a swift kick in the ass. I did see a regular upright Tempest converted to a Capcom bowling once. Ick.

The Tempest project I gave away was converted to 1943. This doesn't even sound like a conversion, since he mentioned the CP having the spinner.

Tempest can be one of the pricier projects to complete. It's part of the reason why I wound up giving mine away (to someone who claimed to want to turn it back into a Tempest) instead of killing my wallet.

Hey Sosage...No worries on that cab. It is still looking to be a complete game some day. I have picked up a couple of parts for it and am still in the process of picking up more.

Oh, I have no worries about it. ;) I shouldn't have used the word "claim" in my last post. :p

Whenever it comes back to life again, send me some pics.

I just replied for the parts. I've built one of those cabinets from scratch, and I'll do it again if I have to! One of the best looking minis in that it uses a full sized 19" monitor. Anyone got a CP?

Well I at least have another reason to dislike Pittsburgh. That makes me sad. I understand if the cab is trashed or already hacked, but to openly admit to trashing a Tempest mini to make it a 60-1 just absolutely disgusts me.

I saw an Atari mini cab (may have been a Centipede) converted to a Capcom Bowling. Definitely not easy to roll the trackball. :D

Everyone should start e-mailing the guy and say "I really have no interest in a 60-in-1 but if it was still a Tempest, I would have given you $1200 easily".

...also...800 for a 60-in-1...just sayin'...

Maybe he is compensating for the value of a Tempest cabaret.
