I'm working on a Strikes and Spares playfield and am finished except for the numbers in the center row.

They were mostly gone when I got it and are completely gone now that I've got the center section repaired and repainted.

I need to see if anyone has a high-res scan or photo of the center section. I think I'm going to try to do decals with it instead of free-hand painting it.

I've got a pic of the section needed before repairs were started. Just need the two rows of numbers.

Thanks,

-JM

Thanks, but I need something higher resolution. I don't have any reference to what some of the numbers are supposed to look like since they are gone.

Scan would be best since I could make stencils straight from it, but I'm probably going to have to live with a good high-res photo since a scanner won't fit on the playfield when populated.

Any updates on your S & S project? I just bought one and am debating restore or trade for something less guyish and more family friendly for my game room. I really want to restore though, just because I love bringing antiques back to life. I'd be more than happy to take pics if I can help you, but I doubt I could do better than the pics that were posted already.

BTW, nice '57, it is my all time favorite.

Nothing worth mentioning on updates right now. I've got a birthday party, New Years' party, and graduation party all coming up within a few months of each other, so it will probably be a while before I can get back to it.

I've gathered up the missing parts from the playfield and will hopefully have a full set of new replacement boards for it by the time I start back on it.

For that era pin it's going to be hard to find something without a scantily clad woman on it. I think the artwork was at its best during the SS era, but let folks know about the pin artwork before they come over to the house (got a Playboy in the mix in the gameroom).

On the car, I've had it for almost 30 years now and am starting to go back through it. That's taking some of my money and time away from the games. But it deserves it, it's over 20 years since it had any updates and I'm going to modernize it a little and put some new paint, chome, and interior in it.

Do you still need those photo's? Let me know, I have a spare pf'd lying around at the moment and could send you some photo's.

PM me with an email if so.

I can take some high res pictures if you need them. My playfield was restored and the work was perfect. Plus, I feel somewhat responsible...

Jardine sent me several nice scans that I can use for reference.

And yes, I hold you somewhat responsible, but not too much. I have a bad habit of buying hopeless cases and spending way too much time, money and effort on them. I think this one's going to turn out being a nice, playable machine when I get finished with it though.

Besides that, it was the closest one to the house after several years of searching.

I do hold you completely responsible for my kid wanting a ball-bowling game.

Hehe - I have a notable Video game collector friend who holds me responsible for spending tens of thousands of dollars because I showed him stuff. He's a much better restorer than me now, I didn't make him a perfectionist. Let me know if you need any pics!
