I have three CPS1 games that aren't working. SF2 CE, Strider, and Magic Sword. Replacing boards, the best I can get is with the Strider. The image looks like it split into 4 sections and upside. Not the best video, but hopefully shows the problem.

This A board did the same thing with Magic Sword but it was just 4 sections of garbage, but with Strider I could at least tell the game was playing.

Any suggestions on what to troubleshoot?

The Strider is shot. I'll take it off your hands ;). Kidding of course. You tried a known working a board and you had this issue? Those a boards are notorious for becoming faulty. Stupid custom chip goes bad and I don't believe there is a replace.

None of the boards work, and I don't have a working A board to compare with. I'll ask around to borrow one, but wondering if anyone has some advice until then.

The video doesn't show it well but the bottom half changes, too. In the vid it looks static.

(Changing topic from original post from video to audio)...

Switched out the A board and game is now working, but the sounds are not. I just get a buzzing sounds and adjusting the sound pot does nothing to the volume.

Found CM guide for audio troubleshooting and did the following.

Checked the output on the YM3012 and it's stuck high. Z80 reset and clock section is fine. Data lines on eprom in socket 9 are active. Checked YM2151 and pin 2 is high while 5 and 6 are pulsing.

I have replaced the Z80, RAM, and YM2151. Any other suggestions?
