Can this "version" be changed to Hyper with 3 roms? Notice the 8 roms at the bottom of the board. @DuffConDeal of the day material. Can be upgraded to Hyper fighting with 3 ROMs!

Interesting. So remove the 8 roms in the corner and replace with the standard 21, 22, 23 roms. I'll have to give it a try.I believe so; I don't recall seeing the program roms on 1mb chips like that before, but the hyper fighting / CE 4mb chips are in positions 21-23. It's likely your board's program chips were what they had on hand. So you'd remove all 8 of the program chips and replace them with the 3x 4mb program chips. If this is the Japanese version of Champion, then you also need a pal and 3x of the graphics roms.
The easiest way to tell if this is the Japanese version is if the Boss names are different.
