Sounds ok for a nice restored machine if the cabinet is nice. Not a great deal but fair. Is it a 19 0r 25 inch monitor?

this. makes a huge difference

unless it's 9.5+/10 all around, i think $900 is way too high personally (and SF2 HF/Champ is on my top 5 want list)

hard to say without pics but i personally would never go over $400 (maybe a bit more if it's got a 25" CRT in excellent shape)

i had a chance to buy a 9.5/10 SFII Champ earlier this year and passed ... seller refused to go any lower than $850

Hey guys! thanks for the replies, im new here trying to negotiate the forums. It is a 19" monitor zero screen burn, and he re welded the control panel because it was a mess and it looks awesome! I agree I think these should be somewhat common and around $500 or so, but I rarely see them because people snatch them right up and they are all around $1,000 if they look good. I figured this one is close I might take the hit and overpay but then I have it for good and im done. Im in the longisland area I always like to buy and sell so if you guys want to tradre or whatever let me know and add me to your friends list! thanks

We need a picture of the cab. Sf2 in a converted taito cab would not be desireable for a collector, even for half the price.

19" monitor is a bit of a bummer, but otherwise, New York prices are going to be worse than they are in most other states, sadly... All depends on how patient you want to be. I wasn't patient with my Ms Pac and I regret that a bit... The SF2's come up regularly enough, in the area, but they are more than likely to be somewhere around that price rather than much cheaper... Have to be patient and lucky. You may not want to wait, either ,which I can understand, also... Good luck, to a fellow long islander!

Decent deal.

I paid $800 for a Championship edition. But it has a 25" monitor and is a Z-back cabinet.

I had to replace the cp artwork but other than that it was in great shape. Just a reminder too your market may be different than others. Everything around me is way over $400 and projects still go for $250. Your area may be similar.

Anyway... if it is a grail game for you I will always say it's worth it.

https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=389137 This is a thread where we talked about restored Street Fighter 2 pricing. It depends completely on if it is the Dynamo or Z-back style cabinet (which are considered original) and if it has all the correct artwork. Most guys on this forum will agree they are worth $500 or less but I've sold 5 SF2 cabs in the last year ranging from $700-$1,000 depending on how detailed the restoration was and how original the cab was. SF is hot right now, at least in LA. I had a few other projects I was going to sell to fund my arcade habit (Galaga, Ms Pacman) and I have left them aside cause I can make more money faster on the SFers.

Damn I would love to have the SF2:WW in that thread for the price he sold it for. They may be common and cheap elsewhere, but in NY it is rare to find one that looks anything like that. They're all hacked or trashed when they pop up, and likely not in a dynamo cab or z-back. You would cringe at the ones listed on Craigslist and the like. They're the mutant zombies of the former NY arcade scene.
