Street Heat Cab worth/desirability? pain in the butt??

Stumbled onto a cab called street heat. Is there any value here? Looks to be in good shape, but they have it listed as not working. They say fuse..lol. Is there any value here if its not fixable. Is the working cab worth much more than the 75 bucks I want to offer for it??

Looks like some conversions are out there??

Here's the KLOV write up...

Thanks for any help or info, would like to know a bit more about this one before I go try to snatch it up.

From Klov:
"This game was released as a conversion kit for Donkey Kong machines. It uses a satellite board connected to the Z80 processor socket, seven replacement EPROMs and three replacement ICs at 2E, 2F and 2N. The kit comes with a steering wheel and instructions on how to convert the original control panel."

so donkey kong roms + Z80 + donkey kong control panel= deconverted back to a Donkey Kong.

Also some of the worth would be if it has the original sanyro monitor.

Why does having the sanyo monitor make it worth more?

People convert those back to Donkey Kong every time.

It is worth your $75. People pay that for empty nintendo cabinets these days.

Why would people want to convert a dk game? was it just to keep arcades fresh?

Donkey Kong couldn't earn anything by then. It might have been a hit at the time but it didn't have the same staying power as Ms Pac or Galaga.

Unfortunately, the prevailing theory at the time was "If it doesn't make money, convert it to something that does." However, that is much better than "If it doesn't make money, kill it with fire", which operators sometimes did.
