Street Fighter worth this much...LMAO

Impossible to do fluidly on SF1?

Not for those who like it and play it. :)

Funny...I think liking SF2 over SF1 is WTF.

Nope. Sorry. SF2 is MILES better than SF1. Moves, fluidity, combos, speed, animation, color, presentation, story. All better. I think Nostalgia is getting the better of you in this case.

If you spam the controller going bananas but there is no way you can get all three moves out any time you want. It's a known problem.

Not with SF1. I can pull the helicopter, fireball, and dragon punch at will.

I found what you're saying is true with SF2 though.

lol dude, I think you're actually confused. SF2's controller motions are fluid and you can bust out a hadoken, hurricane kick and dragon punch with little effort. SF1's are clunky. If you still think you can do it every single time, then to prove it - record a vid of you destroying an opponent (computer or no) with all fireballs, then all DPs, then all hurricane kicks - without failing to bust one out. EDIT: - and no savestates if you're using MAME.

I *seriously* doubt you can bust out the moves as fast (and as repeatedly) as you believe. The game was KNOWN for being clunky.

Sorry, but I've no need to prove it to anyone.

You can suck it if you don't believe me.

I'm a grown man, and I don't waste time with B.S.

Screw off!

Street Fighter 2 is the better game but street fighter I unique cabinet and pneumatic controls kick a$$. I would pay $1050 for a nice dedicated SFI but only $50 for a dedicated SFII.

Well it is definitely harder to perform the special moves on a SFI vs a SFII, but with a bit of practice they can be done fairly reliably.

Fairly reliable and "everytime" doing the moves are completely different.

I can "fairly" get the moves out if I rotate the stick a lot more vigorously but it's not constant like SFII where you simply just won't miss if you choose not to.

I've been playing the SF series since 1991 and competed in tons of tournaments, so this SFI talk about getting the moves consistently is pretty funny....

This is about as "consistent" as it gets, you'll get them out, but not all the time.

Well I will continue to enjoy my nostalgia biased view.

I can remember back when SFI came out. The cabinet (I still think it is one of the best all time dedicated cabs), the pneumatic buttons were mind blowing to me back then. The game itself...I hadn't played anything like it.

If you have the two next to each other yes SFII is going to be superior in many ways, if for no other reason...TIME.

THe second is exactly the same as the first really. Ryu/Ken are the same, they are pretty much unchanged, Sagat is basically the same. The plot of the game, the gameplay, the set up the story, they are the same. The second is just some new characters with updated graphics. The first one started it all.

As far as controls go, well I could do the special moves fairly reliably in the fist one and had trouble for the longest time on the second. I have found an SFI since and had trouble doing the moves again. On the first one try going much slower and letting the joystick return to center right as you hit the button I find and for some reason doing the fireball with Jab punch seems to work better...maybe it is just me, but with practice, you can get it reliably. They are definitely not the same game when it comes to doing the special moves.

Here is a guy who has little to no trouble doing them:

Either way these are all just peoples opinions. If given the choice, I would gladly take SFI with the original dedicated cab and the pneumatic buttons any day, over the most converted game in the history of arcades. It would be a museum piece to me. To play day-to-day, I would probably take SFIICE.

Well considering how much more damage the super moves inflict in SFI the moves should be harder to execute. Does anyone on this forum have a dedicated SFI with pneumatic controls? Someone should reproduce these.
