Just got an email from GameStop about a pre-order contest. Not a fan of Tekken, but I'm curious to see what kind of custom cab they are giving away with those goods. Maybe a Namco Noir?

Hmmmm....Just for the simple fact that madcats is mentioned, it will not be a noir cab. I think it's going to be a madcats CP set with the rest of the cabinet being just a shell mold with a TV and some console in it. Since this game wasn't an actual arcade release, I don't see them giving away an expensive cab. Another fan made like MK9 cab build if you will.

They are also giving away some funky mini cab model bank thingy as a pre-order promo. Looks uglier than sin.

I personally love both series and it looks great to me. When I'm in Japan in March, I will prolly pick up a copy, and head over to the arcade there to take some arcade porn photos and play Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Oh, and see the in-laws as well.

SFIV with Tekken characters added on...I'll pass.

Yeah, not a fan of SFIV either. I won't be playing this game. Just thought the contest was intriguing. Probably right though. Just a cheap shell with all that hardware in it. They don't even have a picture of the thing so I'm guessing it's just going to be slapped together. :)

I can't wait for this game. Then again, I have wanted to play Final Fight's Poison ever since the Sega Saturn days (Final Fight Revenge) so to see her (yes she's a her) returning in SFxT is awesome! Day one purchase.

Now, if the custom cabinet had a nice bit of Poison and Chun-li art work on it, I would be in heaven.

I would link to some pictures I've seen online involving Poison on Chun-li but it might get me banned. <guilty grin>

This is the custom "arcade" machine that Sony had made for Ratchet and Clank:

.

I wonder if it'll be something like that, but with fight sticks instead of normal PS3 controllers.

I saw that but I'm not sure I wana preorder that game. There is a way to snail mail in an entry if you're really interested.

Isn't Tekken a 4 button layout? So how does this game even work?

Not sure about this one, but some of the previous cross series games like this have had 4-button layouts (low and high attacks for punch and kick), with the shoulder buttons acting as low+high, etc. I imagine it'll work in some similar fashion, or they'll come up with something specific to the Tekken side. It's not like we're dealing with a 2-button controller or something :p

They'd have to change the play style for at least one of the games, or keep the original controls depending on which franchise you're using. But either way, how do they balance the game?

Speak of the devil...

I got a Ratchet & Clank All 4 One Arcade Cabinet and the game cabinet does not fit in entrance of the stairs and my bedroom as they're in the upper level of my house, so its currently downstairs inside my sister's room and she is asking me to remove it. I'm looking to sell this cabinet for $800 or a brand new and selead Apple iPad 2. There's only 2 of this cabinet made, they're very limited... this is for any collector of all video games stuff, they were used during PAX of 2010.
The game cabinet does NOT come with the following: PlayStation 3 console, the game, controllers, and TV. (I already removed the items and I'm keeping those to myself.), the cabinet fits a 40" TV and you can install any game console inside. The only reason why I'm selling is because it won't its too heavy to carry to the upper level of my house and it won't fit in the stairs.
This is the cabinet that I have...

I like how he wants to trade it for an iPad. That sums up the fall of arcades so well it's almost poetic.

It is pretty rare, but not "There's only 2 of this cabinet made" rare. More like 8 or 10 (I forget which). I believe they were used at PAX, E3, and SD Comic-Con.

$800 for that empty shell...not for most of us here, maybe someone who is a serious console collector.
It's no different than a Dynamo Showcase cab, only it comes with R&C artwork...which can be picked up for far less.
