I stumbled upon these at Urban Outfitters while I was out with my family today. So cool that they teamed with Capcom to put these out. Great little toppers if you own a SF machine. Kidrobot has made these little 3" figurines for The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy as well.

Unfortunately, you don't know which figurine you'll get until you open the box and tear it out of the bag. And at $10 a pop, I don't plan on trying to collect them all. Even if I were to get all of them, that's over $200 for the complete set of 20. As expected, people are marking up their duplicates on eBay.

I had my 17-month old daughter grab one randomly out of the pile. Of course, out of all of the characters she could have picked, she picked the pink suited Chun-Li. I wanted original Ryu.

My co-worker is going to try and get me one of these at ComicCon:

How big are those? I'm imagining them being about 3"-4" tall.

Those are neat, but I agree the price is too high for a random fig. If I'm paying $10 a fig I'd like to know what I'm getting.

Sorry, I'm really wordy in my post, but I do mention they are 3" tall. Like I said, I definitely don't plan on collecting them all. If my friend grabs a CC exclusive Evil Ryu for me, I'll be happy. :)

This type of thing is very common with Japanese collectables like this (these look domestic, but could be modeled after a similar Japanese line, I would suspect). It's quite annoying if you ask me, mainly because of the cost, like you said.

Yup. 1/20 chance to get regular characters. 1/80 chance to get boss characters. What a rip off.

I ordered a Chun Li on ebay for 15 and got it, love it! I want to get the pink Chun as well. These are neat!

+1. It is extremely annoying! I remember when I collected Dragon Quest stuff,Enix produced this Dragon Quest Gallery line which were miniature versions of various weapons, armor, and items from the game series. You never knew which ones you got,but if you bought a box you were guaranteed to get one of Roto's items. I never did complete my set as it wasn't worth it.

Btw,that evil Ryu looks awesome.

A friend of mine grabbed an Evil Ryu for me at Comic Con. Would love an M.Bison - actually I would love to get the whole collection.

Well, get ready to spend up to $800+ to get M. Bison (Vega). 1/80 chance, my friend. 1/80 chance. ;)

If you really want him, there are two on eBay right now. One that's at $150 with 3 days left and one for $340 BIN. Then, there's a dude selling the complete set (minus evil Ryu) for $500.

If you end up getting him, post here so we can all make fun of you for paying hundreds for a 3" figurine. :D

I think I can hire a dude dressed as M.Bison to play Street Fighter with me for a few days for that amount of money. Crazy!

Sideshow collectibles actually makes a really cool Bison statue that would probably cost less.

My friend just texted me. He went at opening and both booths already sold out. Wow. You'll see most of the 2000 that they made go up on eBay at ridiculous prices. People who were able to grab extras will be able to pay for their CC weekend by selling them. :)

I'm obviously in the wrong business.

Yeah, he thinks that there may have been no limit per customer, so guys were just hoarding them at $12 a piece. I doubt it though. If they only made 2000, I'm guessing they limited it to 1-2 a person. Who knows though. I guess we'll see if one eBay seller lists like 20 of them. Haha.

i hate shit like this.. not like im ever going to CA for comic con but would love one of these.. not paying out the ass on ebay

Yeah, even you ended up going, you really have to be waiting in line to get in and possibly know someone. My friend got in when they opened the doors and by the time he got to the booth(s), they were all gone. I'm sure they sell some before doors open to special attendees, friends, etc. So I wonder how many actually got sold to the general public that were waiting to get in.

Alright, I got confirmation from my co-worker who is also there. He said they limited it to 2 per customer. Although, he was able to get in sooner through a friend I believe. One for him and one for my other co-worker who had dibs before me. Darn! :)

EDIT: Another update. He said that they sold out for the day, but they alloted more to sell for the next day. I guess they want to give people a fair chance to get one rather than just sell to the first day crowd. Who knows, crossing my fingers. Haha.

I don't really see why people want them so bad other than them being so limited. I usually like this type of chibi style done to characters of a franchise like SF, but I don't really like these. Ryu looks like an idiot with his ears sticking out like that, and what's up with his mouth? Come on, these could have been a lot better.

If they really sell that well, I bet there will be a second run/series on a much larger scale.
