I got a Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, and a SF WW off ebay, the SFWW works fine, has no sound, but was listed as such, the SF HF was listed as 100% working, plugged both in, the SFWW works fine, just no sound (not sure on issue on that) anyway the SF HF does the initial ram tests screen and just reboots once its does that initial test screen

any ideas? before I attempt to return it, would prefer to keep them

WW is probably caps. seen a few threads over the years about it, I'm sure PrairieDillo knows most about that.

as for the resets, did you try swapping the A-boards between them? maybe it's a silly connection thing.

The sound on the WW could be caps or a failed CPU that needs to be replaced. It is a known fact that the Z80 chip fails on these "A" boards.

You can simply swap the "A" boards from your HF to your WW boardset.

As far as the resetting issue on the HF, check the DC voltages on your power supply. You should have a +5vdc and a good +12vdc. If the +5 is a little lower than +5v, raise it a bit. I've had Capcom boards randomly reset at less than +5vdc. I usually set my power supplies to +5.05vdc to +5.10vdc on Capcom games.

Swap your "A" boards and check voltage, report back!

I forgot about the Z80! also, +1 on the voltage. edge connector might be dirty and while the juice is good enough for the WW board, voltage might be running a tad low on the HF due to a dirty edge connector... who knows, it might be something that silly. :)

swapped A boards and works, just have no sound (as the WW had no sound) but at least narrowed it down :)
thanks
