Street Fighter II CE dedicated restore

Ah, that sounds like the black stuff normally found on Dynamo HS machines. Maybe they offered them in various colors.

Here's a black one:

Holy shoot i didnt notice your marquee has the text on the right. is that stock? i'm thinking if i should get one or not

do you know of a good replacement material that works for these dynamos? i'd really like to redo the front area:

I don't know of anything in that color. I'd say that the matte black vinyl from Rich at ThisOldGame.com would be pretty close to the black stuff that was usually on Dynamo HS cabinets. I plan to use it on my Ikari Warriors and SFII:WW machines (both Dynamo HS-1) when I get around to refurbishing them.

You could always strip the stuff off there, and get some color-matched paint too.

That picture is not my machine, it is one I saw on eBay years ago and saved all the pictures. Here is a closer image of it:

It is definitely something original from Capcom, but I don't know if it was originally applied in that particular spot by them or not.

thanks man, funny thing is my uncle is a contractor and brought over some formica samples and i matched the grey color perfectly but i know it would not look exactly the same since the formica material isn't the same as the vinyl. like if i put my finger nail against the grey material it will make an indent and maybe even break the gloss, but not the formica. I just don't know what to do i might just end up leaving it alone in hopes that i can source some grey vinyl material to do the sides and front over

Yeah, Formica (high pressure laminate) has a hard surface and is rigid overall, and it is a lot thicker than vinyl too. It is extremely durable though (it is popular for countertops and can last for ages in that application).

BTW, I replied to your question about the text on the marquee in an edit in my previous post. It actually looks to me like it is just an extra copy of the text card that is stuck in the middle of SFII:CE control panels, and it was probably added by an operator rather than Capcom.
