Hi all.

I was looking to purchase new buttons for a (not working yet) Street Fighter II CE machine.

First, which buttons would you guys recommend?

Also, check out this photo. I can't even figure out how to get these kind of buttons out! Any tips on getting them out. To put new buttons in, will I have to alter the casings at all?

Thanks so much!!

What you have are "leaf switch" buttons. Like stated above, to get the buttons out, you need to remove the thin sheet metal "nut" off of each button. The leaf switches do hang over the base of the button and nut, so you wont be able to simply unscrew it all the way. But once you get it loose, you can then spin the button to completely seperate.

There is another style of buttons that can be used and they are called "microswitch" buttons. I believe most Street Fighters came with these style buttons.

I usually order my buttons from Bob Roberts. Bob is an old timer in the amusement industry and sell parts to us collectors out of his home. His website is archaic and he does things the old fashioned way. You send him and email of what you want. He responds back with total cost. You then mail him a check. He has damn good prices and most everything that a collector would need. Here is where to look for buttons: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/parts.html#buttons

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Will microswitch buttons simply fit in there, or will I have to do a lot of altering to the case?

Obviously I'd have to take the arms off. But I mean, will that be pretty much be the only thing I need to do? And solder the wires to the new microswitch buttons?

Thanks!!

They will drop right in, and be much easier in the long run. No adjusting. Also, I would not solder, I would use connectors so it is easy to work with in the future.
