Street fighter alpha board?

I looked on ebay earlier but only saw alpha 2 and 3. I just hooked the board up earlier and play it for a liitle while it wasnt too bad of a game

Is it just the B board? 40-60-ish is "fair" imo. I bought one with an A board for about 50, shipped, a couple years ago. Ebay/CL...*shrug*. I'm not gonna even try to predict that. ;)

It's a fun game and there is nothing wrong with Alpha 1, the thing is that Alpha 2 and 3 are a bit more sought after for different reasons (one camp swears 2 is the money game, another swears 3 is...all three versions play like completely different games... :p).

Just the B board

I wouldn't pay more than $20 or $50 with the Motherboard.

Alpha 2 is essentially the same game, with improvements.

NOT LIKELY around here in the US where the original poster is. You link to an auction that ended w/ no bids. This is in no way a good way of judging it's value. They can list for whatever they would like. Need we dig up the thread of the 10K HUO Star Wars cockpit?

Over seas where in a country where there are less, maybe more depends on the takers.

IMHO a B Alpha one is worth no more than $10-20. An A board is worth $30-50 usually by itself.

I have a US Alpha 3 set (new battery) that I posted at $100 and got no takers, and it's the most recent CPS2 version. There's a "gold" Naomi version but no one really cares to get a Naomi for that version.

I hear that the Naomi Alpha 3 sucks.

yeah CPS2 Alpha 3 is the most collectable of that SF series.
It's usually the last version that is most collectable, unless they push out a weird extra version.

Alpha 3
SFIII 3rd Strike
SSF2Turbo (or anniversary)
CvsSNK2
Marvel Vs Capcom 2

It basically de-values all of the intermediate versions like CE, SSF2, 2nd Impact, Marvel vs SF....

but you havent sold it yet :)

EXACTLY
If I have a hard time moving the A/B set of the most collectable version of Alpha for $100 then a B board of Alpha 1 is in no way worth $100.

What are you talking about?

right
maybe people afraid the suicide batteries and go for phoenix boards

Some say Phoenix is worth more.
I and others say no since it's actually better to be original.
Mine listed is with a new battery even.

the only difference with the original is the phoenix logo on boot under the capcom logo
and phoenix make your life easier, especially if you want to have many cps2 boards,no worries for the stupid suicide again

every arcade collectors pcbs are not 100% original anyway, most of them are bootlegs

I hope you sell your pcb though,I am not against you :)

You should fill out your VAPS account so that we can see what is in YOUR collection.
You talk alot about boards but don't have your own collection listed.

I hear that the Naomi Alpha 3 sucks.

It didn't get a lot of, if any, exposure in the American arcades and by then everyone kinda moved onto other SF games.

I use to care about keeping things as original as possible, but needs must when the devil drives. Phoenixed, *to me*, is slightly more desirable as long as I never have to worry about a suicide. It really sucks when a CPS2/3 board dies because of that shit. Yeah, yeah, "change the battery lazy ass", but it's a minor hassle and possible bullet avoided. I'm thankful my Mars Matrix is phoenixed (if that board committed suicide...omg...I'd be so pissed off...I love that game ;P)

10-20 is the low end. Sold between say, you and I while we shoot the shit in person and "hey, you looking for an Alpha 1 board? Screw it, 20 bucks.". Just my opinion though.

P.S. I don't have an Alpha board to sell for 20 bucks.
P.S.S. Someone sell me a ST board for 20 bucks. ;)
