Hello. Just purchased a street fighter 3. Forgot this requires a cd rom drive and disc to play. Mine didn't have one so....does anyone out there have one or know what I can do in this situation? Would any cd rom drive work? How about the cd....is it possible to burn without a physical copy of the disc? Finally, does this board have a suicide battery that needs to be switched out? Thanks!

The CPS3 system can be confusing at first but now there is a way to have all cps3 games running in one cd with a non sucide cart. You will just need to send your cart to the guys at Arcade-Projects.com where they will transform it to play all CPS3 games and not ever have it suicide. They will also provide a burned CD will all of the games.

But you have to go to http://www.arcade-projects.com for the info. Contact "Mitsurugi-w"

1. Would any cd rom drive work?: No, there is a specific model but now there is a hack where you won't need one, I personally just bought a replica on eBay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toshiba-SD-...962465?hash=item211f4b8021:g:LYMAAOSwIgNXrhuQ

2. How about the cd....is it possible to burn: Yes it could be burned.

3. Finally, does this board have a suicide battery that needs to be switched out?: Yes it does and its a different process than swapping out a CPS2 system battery, much more difficult and easier to suicide if you don't do it correctly.

Another note is that you will have to have enough simms (memory card sticks) to run games like sf3 3rd strike, that game takes up the most memory. I am not sure how your board looks but thats another thing to look out for. Arcade projects also makes memory sticks just in case you are missing some. Everything you need to know will be on that site, hope this helps.

I personally have 2 setups with these multi carts.

Thanks for all of the info! So that CD-ROM drive you pointed me to on eBay, will that work for he cps3 system? Also, where can I go to get the CD-ROM burn info? Finally, if my cart is suicided already(which I don't believe it is) could they resurrect it to a multi or does it have to be non-suicide?

Thanks!

If your cart did suicide then yes, it can be converted to the Super Bios. I just had a dead cart converted to one and also just bought a NEC CD-3010A SCSI CD-ROM drive off eBay for my CPS3 set up and it works perfectly. Just make sure you have the jumpers on the back of the drive set to the right configuration or it won't play the disc. You can get all the needed wires for it off eBay also.

Awesome. Where would I get the disc from?

When I got the cart converted I just asked for a disc with it. I believe it's part of the service that they offer since now you can play all the games ,so they put all the games on a disc for you.

Ahh. Well I'm not at the point where I want to do the full setup yet, and I believe my cartridge is still alive. So I would just need the ISO file or whatever to burn it to cd...anyone know where to get it? Or is it included in the mame romset?

Thanks
