So I just wanted some opinions on this pinball. The guy had it posted on craigslist for $800. I told him that I was willing to pay that much for it and he took his add down. I asked him to send me some better pictures because I was going to be driving from Omaha Nebraska to Kansas City to pick it up. He sends me the below pictures and what he had told me was that it was in great shape both cabinet and playfield and all that was needed was 2 coils needed to be replaced. After looking at the pictures and checking prices on boston pinball I offered him $550. Does that sound like a good price? I just emailed him so I probably won't hear back from him until tomorrow at the earliest.

that depends, if you need a replacment driver board your looking at 160-180 if someone has it, you need to know WHY those coils burned up, because a repair IS A MUST, but in the end its up to you

Nothing worse than trying to sell something on craigslist, agreeing on a price, taking the ad down then having the guy email me offering less. This is the reason I take non refundable deposits, I've lost many other potential buyers taking a game off the market just to be lowballed by a guy I had a deal with two or three days later.

Why would you agree to pay $800 and then low-ball?

If you were selling your a game for $500 and someone contacted you saying they would pay $500 ... would you be happy that they only brought $300?

Haggle BEFORE then you agree on a price; not after. Or stick to your word and pay what you said "yes" to. Geez.

Why would you agree to his asking price before reviewing the photos he
sent you ?, Depends on the type of person the seller is, you may have
just ruined any chances of buying it by offering him less than what you
already told him you would pay, guess you will have to wait and see what
type of response you get back from them, in this case it would have been
good to have his phone number to call and discuss vs. going back and
forth via email.

Let us know how it turns out.

You didn't attach any pictures.

Truthfully I would probably ignore your email, re-list the game and sell it to someone else. If you persisted I would tell you to shove it.

What he said.

I had only seen one photo and it was blurry at best. When I called and talked to the guy he assured me that it was in excellent condition and all that was wrong with it was a few coils that needed to be replaced. I then agreed on the $800 but told him I needed to see some more photos before I could truly accept the offer since I had to drive over 3 hours to pick it up. After waiting over a week for him to send me photos I then saw that there was a lot more wrong with the game then what he was letting on. At that point that is when I offered him what I thought the machine was worth. He decided not to lower the price and is instead selling it to someone locally that had showed interest in it.

I wasn't trying to be a dick or anything like that or trying to low ball his price. He was not giving me the whole picture and in the end I realized it wasn't worth the drive. If he had been honest with me in the first place I would be on my way to kansas right now to pick it up. Sadly this wasn't the case.

That's the kind of info you should have put in the first post :)

I got mine for $500 working with a brand new coin door. Not the norm by any means, but that game is a tough resell. You better like it, cause if you want to sell it, you will hold onto it for awhile.

I got mine working for 700 a few years ago.

It's slightly underrated, but really requires other good bally/williams games next to it to shine (unique game, but not good as your only pin). Gameplay is very stop n' go. Backglass is in the top ten for worst pin art.
