ok.. looking into picking one up possibly. just wanted opinions on playability, value, parts availability..ect.

From the CL Ad the description reads..
I am selling a street fighter 2 pinball machine it currently isnt working and needs some repairs. There is a board that the game is missing I cant exactly say what it is cause im not sure. It needs a dmd display, speaker panel, translight, and a backglass. This is a parts game but the cabinet, playfield and ramps in the game are in excellent condition and the game also has special blue custom legs.

Even with all thats missing is it worth it for 400?

What would be a good price for it then? 200?

I'd pass on it unless you wanted a project or to part it out. SFII isn't a very good pin anyway. You'd end up spending more on parts putting it back together/fixing it than you would have to spend on a working one.

I'm gonna check it out since i'll be in the guys area anyway. I will take everything into account. I've never played one .. the flyer for it sounded interesting... but then again they had to in order to sell them. What specifically about the gameplay is so bad?

Not worth it at that price. I paid $500 for mine, complete and working with an extra brand new Happ coin door. The game only sells working in the $500-$750 (if you're lucky) range. Way too expensive to piece that back together. In his condition, maybe $200?

As for playability, it is *VERY* linear. Shoot here to defeat Blanka, here to defeat E Honda, etc. The lower playfield car is completely wasted. The game is very stop and go. Flailing gets you nowhere. The sound is ok, the DMD graphics are bad. It will get very repetitive. Great theme, but that is about where it ends. If you have a bunch of pins, it is alright in a group, but as an only pin, I would pass.

Try the Visual Pinball version. Im a fan of Street Fighter and I think the audio is cool except for the weird voice but its not to bad. The art is weird and from the visual pin version I would say the game is probably to easy and a bit boring for a experienced player IE: not me. I lost out on a chance to pick up one in my area for 500 with a bad right flipper and I think I would have bought it if that was the only issue.

i had one, its a cool theme, sounds arent that bad(chun li making fun of you is actually kinda funny) shots are VERY repetitive but its an alright starter pin

translight will run 25 or so on ebay, plexi is cheap, speaker panel , well any gottlieb sys 3 will fit, boards are pricy! a driver or "mpu" both run 140-180,

id say 250 would be an absolute max! imo

wouldn't pay more than $100 for it as it's not worth getting fixed (it'll cost you more than it'll sell for) and you probably won't get much more for it selling it in parts..

and sf2 is not a fun game to play. don't know why this title seems to be one of the more popular gottlieb games around, probably only because of the title.. I even enjoy playing waterworld more than sf2 :)

Ditto. I passed on one in a similar condition - no DMD, translite, glass, lockdown bar, and missing both flipper assy's - but had two+ complete sets of boards. Was free, and passed it along to a good friend of mine who likes the theme.

$100 top's if it's otherwise complete, but unless you're really interested in the theme and/or interested in a project to try and flip for a *small* profit, not really worth fooling with.

The pin is bad. I have a friend who is an OP and he has several. All setting in storage. He said many years ago if you bought a juke from the distributor they gave you a free street fighter pin just to get rid of them.

100% working and in good condition i would pay $700 Tops..

i sold mine that are working with minor issue for $500 that includes everything..

I traded and got anothr sf2 that cost me about 600 in trade value plus 80 so that s still 680.

for that situation i would pass! uless its 100 buck
