I obtained a sf2 board and everything booted fine but when I started the game, the character on the left side of the screen was all glitched up and so was the health bar, ive cleaned all the roms and checked everything, i cannot find an issue. If someone can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated

From what I've been reading on here as of late, many people have been having problems with one of the 3 boards. It has never been the chips, and most of the CPS-1 boards have all been SF2s. Bottom board is the "A" board, Middle is the "B" and the smaller squate board is the "C" board. Just do a search on here on glitchy sf2 boards or the CPS-1 boards A B or C.

i cant seem to get the kick harness to function either, when i originally got it, the connector was bent, so i bent it back to original shape and would lead me to believe that the c board could be the issue, but heres the pictures.

Hmmm....You have a SF2: World Warrior board.

CAPCOM Graphics problems on CAPCOM CPS-1 boards are a PITA 'cause the board passes graphics info through all three boards.

The easy way to find the problem is to start swapping boards around to find out which board is bad. Once you know which board is bad. You see if you can fix that board.

It helps a lot if you can get find a good WW board, which shouldn't be too hard 'cause WW is a very common board. Call a friend or a PM a local KLOVer with a good WW board. Try and arrange a meet.

Without an extra WW board, you;ll have to take the long way: Swap the bottom boards, mess with the roms, and probe around the chips.

Odds are though you will have a problem with the little top board. That little board seems to cause more problems for more people than any other board. The bottom board is number two. But, if you're lucky then you have a bad or dirty graphics rom on the middle board. It's hard to say for sure.

When Trouble Shooting CAPCOM, it helps to know which boards and socketted chips are good. :D

i had a good feeling that it was the c board, i tested the a board when i swapped it out with my megaman the pb board and same thing. the guy said it all worked when he shipped it, and it seems that the c board was the only thing that got damaged, if i could find one of those i would be in good shape.

I have 5 different boards and only 1 works as it should, they seem to be showing their age.

Quite true, as to the number of people posting about having issues with the SF2 boards as of late. That and the Final Fight boards with occasional G&G boards seem to have problems as well.

ctozzi, could you take a few c boards off of your broken ones and test them on your working one? because if you had a working c board i would be willing to purchase it.

Pretty sure he realises that ;)

Sup Hewitosn. Good to see ya again bud. :)

Did you try swapping just the bottom boards with you W.W. board? In general, bottom boards are pretty much universal. It's the tops boars that are not. If you didn't, then try just swapping bottom boards first. And see if that works.

If that does not work, then try a working W.W. "C" board.

Best Case: Find another 90632-C-1 W.W. "C" board with the same part numbers on top of the Big Black graphics chip and on top of the little, socketted PROM chip as your W.W. "C" board. And test the board with it. If it works fine, the swap the part.

Next Best Case: Find another 90632-C-1 W.W. "C" board with a different part number on top of the Big Black graphics chip and the same part number on top of the little, socketted PROM chip. And test the board with it. If it works fine, the swap the part.

If you're comfortable with re-seating chips, you can swap the little PRom chips around--if you feel the need.

"C" Board Part # 90632-C-1:
With Big Black Graphics Chip #: CPS-B-17, CPS-B-15, CPS-B-14, CPS-B-12, CPS-B-05 & Prom Chip: C632, or
With Big Black Graphics Chip #: CPS-B-18 & Prom Chip: 632B

Hey Noobs, have you checked you power supply lately? If it is running too high or low it can cause issues like that. I was just having similar effects on a Konami board that I knew was working, and sure enough, my power was running high (about 15.5 on the +12). Once I adjusted it everything was working correctly.

Because of this I would tend to lean toward connection problems and would check them all. Then recheck them again. Some I have helped in the past, had the kick harness backwards but some of the kick buttons did still work.
