Hey everyone. I have been putting my sf2ce together and I'm finally done. So I power it up and realize that it's not original. I believe the PCB is real and not a bootleg.
But you can do fireballs in the air, which isn't normal!

It's not rainbow edition either because the logo at the start is regular green to blue.
I will send add some pics to show you.

Also in the demo mode, sometimes the characters switch!

A friend of mine said that capcom had tested out some secret ROMs after all these bootlegs were coming out.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

It's probably the YYC bootleg set of roms. The PCB is real.

Right on! A lot of that is similar to mine except the logo isn't rainbow coloured

This is real hardware with hacked roms. You can replace/re-write the 3x EPROMs under the c-board with original code and have original champ or hyper fighting

Wow ok that is so cool! Why do you think someone would hack them in the first place?

Bootleg companies creating hacks to keep up interest in SFII after champ came out. Eventually Capcom released HF because the hacks were cutting into sales.

Ok I am going to get my friend to rewrite the ROMs.
He asked me what version I have. I am pretty he is looking for 920313.

Is this correct? It's the number on boot up

Yes, the bootleg is based on v 920313 which i believe is the first revision of SF2CE.

This is a rom hack, such as Double K.O version of WW that speeds up play like SF2 Hyper Fighting. Cool hack done to keep up with the "updates" without breaking the bank with "official updates"

I'll see if I have my original roms you can have if I can find them.
