Who here on the forum has Capcom's 1987 Street Fighter 1?

I know my MK contacts, but I only know a few SF1 people.

KMK68SIN I got you down bro. Project side art is still in motion.
CHALLENGER, your knowledge is always welcomed.

Anyone else here with a fully operational game?
Got some technical questions to share which I'll start off:

Would anyone know how to enhance the sound on the game?
There are 2 volume controls on the PCB, is there any way to increase the verbal audio, & slighty reduce the background music?
I'm trying hear the classic "wah wahh wah wa" just a little more.

Any help/info would be great, & knowing who is who with SF1 would be great as well.

I mention earlier, we're trying to reCreate/Restore the side art.
As soon as I finish my MK1 cabinet, I'll be doing a full resto on my original HS-1 cab.

I've got the Japanese version of the game and its manual and instruction cards.

The second volume control is for the second speaker, which must be connected to CN6, just beside the JAMMA connector. Pin 3 is Speaker+ and pin 4 is Speaker-. However, there doesn't appear to be any way to adjust the sounds under the music.

Is the manual in english by chance? I have seek hi & low for any type of manual or schematics for this game.

Let me know, Very interested..

I'm afraid everything's in Japanese. The manual is just the pinouts for the edge connector and connectors CN-5, CN-6, and CN-7, and also the dip switches. The instruction cards are also entirely in Japanese.

Damn, ok. I'm interested in that instruction card. Maybe we can edit it & get it translated?

Anybody else out there got SF1?

Yes, they did come with the Pneumatic edition. That's the moon shape one, But they also came out with the Hs-1 Cabs.

I own a Dedicated HS-1, & so does KMK68SIN.
Here have a look:

I own both Marquees to both cab.

yeah but the game is so bad there doesn't seem to be a reason to own one unless it's in the cool original cabinet w/ crazy buttons.

Yes, terrible game, but a lot of guys consider a game worth having for nostalgic reasons and SF1 is definitely a nostalgic game for guys that grew up playing games in the late 80s-early 90s. And most remember playing on a dedicated HS-1. SF1 in a HS-1 is usually pretty affordable, so why not?

Coinopwarehouse in Maryland just sold a dedicated SF1 under $400

Exactly! Thank you NesJess.

Exactly! Thank you NesJess.

Just giving credit where credit is due. It was pretty innovative for its time and it eventually evolved into SFII which is legendary.

I got to play Kevin's SF1 at CAX and had a lot of kicks (no pun intended) playing it. It brought back memories and a lot of laughs so I'm glad he brought it.

I have a Japanese PCB with issues (static but playable) and a NOS marquee. I was thinking of eventually building one in an HS-1 but it probably won't happen. Haha.

I think that the only thing cool about the SF1 HS1 is the dedicate artwork they made for it. I have often contemplated creating a reboot artwork set for HF, ST or Hyper AE using the tall SF1 artwork as a template. Capcom really blew it with art sets for their SF2 variants.

Well I got SF1 in the works right now. Working on it with my buddy etienneodk.
We're just taking our time on it.

I get tired of people hating on the SF games so much. I actually love my SF collection and would love to get a hold of an SF1.

Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Gemfighter 2
Street Fighter 2 dedicated
Street Fighter 2 CE dedicated
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Street Fighter Alpha 2

I get that some people don't like the fighting games or prefer the MK, KI, or Neo Geo versions but they all have thier own innovations and together created the newer versions we still play today.

Hey Charles,

I'm really looking forward to getting some side art for my SF1. I had the only SF1 at CAX this year and loved seeing people's reactions when they walked by and saw it. This is the game that started it all and even though the game play is terrible (like nesjess said) it's all about the nostalgic connection all of us have with it. I had both my SF1 and SF2:CE next to each other at CAX and people were having so much fun with them. I need to rebuild the joysticks and replace a few buttons on SF2:CE since CAX, they got A LOT of abuse...play.

The main reason I own this game is because as a youth, It took My damn money.
Are you kidding me, 2 or 3 hits from MIKE or Birdie and match is over.
(that'd be the 2nd match after Ken. 25 cents gone in less than 8 seconds.)
That machine owned me then, Now I own IT.
I'll get my money worth now.

With 1 Credit I can get as far as up to LEE, (That's if I'm lucky beating Eagle with the damn Sticks) then forget it. Still trying...

Yes its poor gaming, but I accept the challenge.
That's just me.
