hello there, I'm sorry if this might be a noobish problem or if this might not be here

last week I got into the world of arcades because my aunt gifted me 2 arcades, they were in very crappy state but I'm trying my best to fix them

I'm having a problem with the sprites of a Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting board, at least 60% of the sprites are having problems, below I show some Images of the problem

I really haven't touched much of the board because I fear of making anything worse or even having more problems, so I came here hoping that somebody can tell me what I can do to fix that

Take the 3 layers apart and give the connections a quick clean with a nylon brush and some canned air.

If that doesn't work.... then do the same with the Romz.

Probally around 80% of CPS1 grafx problems are cleared up by cleaning
the board and roms connections.

Also it's been an on going trend for the past few months with these CPS1 boards having graphic issues due to one of the boards going bad. I guess many of them only had like a 20-25 year shelf life. lol

thanks, well, I think that is most probably because the poor cabinet was always in a wet place so that might be beacuse of dirt, wet places are usual in costa rica...

mine could be one of those cases, this is the first time that board is out of the cabinet since 1992 that it was build and shipped to my country..

You can try your SF2:HF board with a new (different) bottom "A" board. See what happens. If that clears the probem or not.

If not, then you can try your SF2:HF board with a new (different) top "C" board. Any "C" board from another HF or CE ought to work ok. See what happens. If that clears the probem or not.

And, if you have access to a burner, then you can download the HF arcade roms files and check sum the graphics roms. The HF graphics roms are the BIG BLACK chips on the middle "B" board. If a rom fails a check sum, then replace it.

Cleaning and reseating the board connectors and graphics chips is a good idea too. I've seen some filthy SF2 boards before. Dirt and corrosion can do wierd things to a board.

The problem with CRAPCOM is that they send the graphics info all over the board set.
