Strange Tempest Front door panel

weird.. looks like an op did that, yet seems like a lot of work when you could just unlock and open the real door

The art on CPO is too short as well, the red and white stripes should go down almost to the bend in the panel. It also doesn't seem to have the Atari trademark script that should be on the left side under the stripes. I know I've seen a CPO like that before, but can't remember where. Maybe it was an early repro.

Looking at the auction pictures I also noticed that the serial number sticker is inside the cab above the ARII. Usually they're on the front panel centered below the coin door where that weird door is, in the upper left corner of the front panel or above the back door next to the other sticker.

The side art has the black and red center stripe that goes all the way out to the edge of the cabinet, which you tend to see on early production cabs. I wonder what the serial number of that cabinet is?

some ops do not want employees to have access to the cash.. Maybe there is a pic of what its doing to the cashbox.

Since its never been seen in another tempest, I would say there was an operator thing.

It looks like a standard Tempest with some poor quality inkjet overlay and a door cut into the front. Nothing special at all. The overlay is all bunched up a the bottom, from being installed incorrectly.
