I found this in an NFL Blitz cab. It is not attached to anything and I am curious what it is/does. Thanks in advance for any information.

That is for plugging in your N64 Blitz data. This was a feature designed to allow the player to create a unique team at home and then use that team in an arcade machine. It was a novelty that I never saw utilized, but still a pretty cool piece of gaming history.

If you are not planning to keep that box I am interested.

A semi-desperate attempt to draw together console gaming and arcade gaming. Wasn't there also a NEO GEO MVS memory card of some type?

Yup... the memory card fit in the 2 slot arcade board and the AES home console.

There are various models of 1, 4, and 6 slot boards that have 2 long sockets down the sides of the board for plugging in ribbon cables that went to an optional memory card slot.

Not all 1 slot boards had the sockets and the 2 slot boards had them built-in.

Yes. I think it actually may have worked better for the MVS because you could use it to save progress in most games whether you had an AES or not.

Still didnt' get much use.
