This Dynamo panel is... odd. What I really want is a blank top I can drill my preferred layout in to. Failing that, the 6 button Street Fighter version. Any advice on how to turn this in to that?

Or... anyone want to trade? 😁

Are we sure this is a HS-5? I've seen this panel on HS-9s before, but never on a HS-5. This is the "universal" panel, so kitchen sink approach. You could swiss cheese it enough to get a SF setup, but there are people here and vendors that reproduce the SF layout ones. They come up a lot for sale too, not uncommon at all.

I don't know that this CP was originally attached to the cabinet, but the cabinet itself is an HS-5 as far as I can tell; single piece vertical panels. No stickers besides the front Dynamo decal.

Anywho, yeah, I've been watching for them on the trading post but one hasn't come up in a bit. I might look in to buying a repro, but they cost more than the cabinet did, monitor and all!

It's an original 'retail' HS-5 panel. Not sure what's so strange about it. If you have any metalwork experience you can cut yourself a piece of 16 gauge steel and drill out your desired pattern, cut the top of the old panel off and weld in your new one.

Never welded before. Guess I'll have to learn.

You can also do what I did on a Final Fight restoration. See about 1/5 of the way down on this link:

Get a sheet of 26 gauge steel at Lowe's/Home Depot and cut it to size and epoxy it on top of your panel. Then drill it through. It turned out great.
