I have a U5000 monitor that has a bad / shorted tube... I confirmed this by pulling the RGB connector off and turning up the screen control. I still get purple and then when it warms up, i get flikering green colors / lines and crap.

I have a BK490 rejuvinator and the short light doesnt come on...

I tried the clean and balance and the rejuvination proceedures. The Red and Green guns are moving togther when i hit one or the other.

Anything i can do to clear these shorts ? I kow there are some 'ghetto' ways of removing them.

Sometimes you can physically shake the short loose by placing the monitor on its face and tapping the neck.

Put it on a thick towel, pillow, or blanket first or you'll scratch the face of the tube under it's own weight.

Now with the rejuvenator setup for your particular tube, set the rotary switch to "restore" and wait 30 seconds. Now push the "remove shorts" button anyway. If by chance there were a short in the tube that wasn't showing up on the shorts test, then this should clear it up. You only push the remove shorts button for one second.
