Hi I have recently accuried three Battlezones. I am at the moment waiting to get word to send my boards in for two of them in for repair as they are not working. So I thought I would go ahead and clean up the cabinets today. I noticed that one of the cabinets has a almost textured type material with the correct battlezone art work and is diffinetly factory. Were as the other two are just smooth sidded with factory artwork. This machines coindoor is also different. It has a black fram but the door is almost a chrome or alluminum finish. the other two have black fram with black coin doors the fram on these has a bolt that can be seen from the outside on each side. I checked the other machine to see if there had ever been holes drilled for this type of door but there were no holes. The coin slots have the Atari logo with the normal .25. and I noticed the marque was a lighter blue color were the other two are a darker blue color. I do not think this is a fade issue as the other colors do not appear fadded. I dont have any way to download pics or I would do so. Does anybody else have a Battlezone like this?

You have an Irish built Battlezone cabinet. The differences in your cab are similar to those on other Irish built Atari cabs.

strange Battlezone

Thanks for the info I had no Idea that this was an irish version. As far as sending my boards to Talon2000 I had sent him a PM when I was looking for someone to repair these and never got any kind of reply from him at all. I found another member on here that said he was back logged but could probably get to them in a few weeks. I have actually got three of these boardsets and they were all in cabinets. So I see he is having a tuff time and maybe my PM got over looked. If he would PM me I could send him at least one boardset as I have told the other member I would send him two of the boardsets. I hope I dont sound rude as I am all into helping kids. But hard to help when you get no replies

Sometimes you have to wait if you want quality. BZ boards are a real bitch to fix. Some take longer than others. Everyone is different and if somebody has worked on them before, you never know what you are going to find. I know certain chips for the vector boards are getting difficult to source as well. Fixing boards IS NOT his main job. He has a real job and does this in his spare time to help support the hobby. There are a lot of people in front of you waiting for Tempest boards, Star Wars boards etc that want them done right.

You can check around, I know there are 2 other guys who fix them but I don't know if they are taking them on at this time. There is nothing quite as frustrating as having a circuit board crap out almost as soon as you get the game up and running.

Try PMing him again and see if you get a response. If he is backlogged he will tell you. I know he had a lot of personal issues to deal with recently and that has hampered his ability to spend as much time as he would like to fix boards.

Just my 2 cents.

I had Talon fix my Major Havoc board and he did an excellent job. I plan on sending off my Red Baron to him. He was fast too. Anyway, save the children. :)

You'll have better luck with the repair folks in the fall for obvious reasons.
