My brain tells me that storing them flat it better than rolled (in a tube). However, rolled takes up a lot less space. That is beneficial.

So I thought... I'd ask. Anyone store marquees rolled or have serious concerns with storing them rolled?

I'm obviously not referring to the ones screened on glass. I'm smart enough not to roll those :)

The ones you can roll are weakened (IMO) by rolling. I store mine flat. Find a box the right size, put them in and put some lexan/glass ones in with them (on top) to keep them truly flat.

I prefer to keep them flat because they go on the game flat. If you roll them they will be harder to flatten out in the future if kept rolled for a long period of time. Plus not sure if they will have issues like cracking when unrolling after a long enough period of time.

You mention obviously not rolling glass/ plexi marquees which we all know can't be done. Do you own and store any glass or plexi marquees? if so who not simply store your rollable marquees with your glass/ plexi marquees? I usually wrap my marquees in paper to keep them from scratches and such and then stack them all together in one place. Could be a box or a pile on the floor or leaned against a wall. They really don't take much space at all. In fact I would think if you have multiple rolled marquees it would actually take more space than storing them flat.

+1, put them in between solid marquees to keep them flat. If rolled for too long it takes forever to get them flat. Biggest thing to keep flat is sideart. I actually keep mine under the bed between plywood, out of the way and stays flat.

I have artwork that been rolled for 20 plus years. It's best to keep them flat.
Rolled artworks is harder to unroll and even harder to put on to a game.

Almost all of mine are plexi - so rolling doesn't work. So - I first kept them in a long thin box, but now just hang them on the wall in the gameroom until I need them....

Flat... I got an NOS Golden Tee marquee that was rolled. When flattened, the artwork had visible stress marks that showed light through them.

Thanks all... As I thought, flat is the right approach. But I was hopeful someone would go against my gut instinct.

Will look for some appropriate cardboard...

The same here I store flat inside a cardboard box cut then taped to make a sortof pita storing place...that way i can stand the box up and its for the most part flat.
