What conditions (temp/humidity) should I be shooting for in the room with my arcade equipment? I've got a pinball (soon to be two) and a multi-game bartop unit in my basement. I've got a de-humidifier, and I've set it up to target 65%. Is that reasonable?

Should I just shoot for 'comfortable for me'?

To me 65% is way too humid. I think an ideal range is 45-50%. That being said, I had mine set to 40% and liked the results. Except when it got down to 40 it would shut off, then on, then off, then on..... Seemed not to have a big variance between the on/off cycle. Now I just have it set to CO=continuous operation. It now keeps it between 35 and 40.

If we were talking about acoustic guitars your garage would be perfect ;). That's got to be hella harsh on your games tho.

Hah...I guess my 900 degree garage at 200% humidity with a leaky door isn't good, huh?

Ha Ha, probably not the best. I'm right there with you though. My games haven't complained as of yet though. :)

I have my dehumidifier set to average about 45% humidity. If you are looking for a good dehumidifier for a decent price get the frigidaire on newegg.com I got the 70 pint version and I've been really happy with it.

I'll try for lower...

I have a similar de-humidifier (I got it at Sears). So far it hasn't gotten the basement below 65%. I think I'm just going to have to pony up for a second unit.

LOL, several months ago I went and picked up a Shinobi, the guy had it on his back patio (under roof), about 15 feet away from the in ground pool. when I got it home and opened it up the mildew smell knocked me down. Had to air it out for a week

I keep mine set to continuous as well.
