We have two storage units FULL of arcade style video games. I do not know if they work or not. Some appear to be complete and look to be in working order...some have cabinet only. There is a box with about 28 video game manuals (not necessarily matching ones to the games). The pricing is for the ENTIRE LOT ...all games and all manuals. Can be seen in Clarksville during the week. I cannot guarantee any of the machines...it would seem to me that some of them would be used for parts only but it maybe also that they could be re-assembled and would work. You would be buying the entire lot....AS IS and all machines must be taken away. I have listed the machines by name below, but some were deep in the storage unit and I could not see them.
I can email you photos.
SEGA BASS FISHING
BUST A MOVE
TURKEY HUNTING
DEER HUNTING USA
ZERO 2 PAINT
TAITO OPERATION THUNDER
SEA WOLF
SEGA SPORTS JAM
SOUL EDGE
SUPER CHASE
CYRUSS (OR MAYBE GYRUSS)
CRUSIN
SUPER PAC MAN
GALAXAR
SPEED BUGGY
(5 OTHER MACHINES COULDN'T GET NAME)

TECMO RYGAR
SEGA SPORTS JAM
X MEN
TIGER ROAD
GORF
PIGSKIN
SAN FRANCISCO RUSH EXTREME
PAC MAN
(11 OTHER MACHINES COULDN'T SEE)

arcade storage lot

this is the generated email that I got--they also sent me some pictures-and after checking the photos out--would say about half of the machines are gutted and most of the parts are missing--1100.00 to me is pretty close to all that they are worth!--they might be 10-15 good machines--------------here is the email----------------------

I had intended this to be a flat price sale...first come first serve, just like it was meant to be...but two out of the first three to contact me offered more than the asking price (coming to look today) At our storage facility, we have auctions a couple of times a year for non-payment of rent. The person who had these two units owed us over $2500 (we are bound by TN state laws as to how we re-take our units for non-payment and therefore most times, the past due payments really add up by the time we can legally auction the goods) My husband put a minimum bid on these units at our auction and they did not sell (most people coming to these auctions are looking for flea mkt. stuff). We need to re-coup the most money possible from them and even then we will still lose, so when the two offered more than we were asking, in almost simultaneous emails, we were put in an odd place.
Rest assured, we are not trying to turn this into a bidding war but the first time I opened my email (only hours after listing these) I had a very large group of emails....so I had offers of more than my asking price, offers to buy site unseen, etc.

We tried to decide what would be fair since so many people contacted us at virtually the same time. What we decided to do is accept 'sealed bids' to be opened at 4:30 p.m. this Saturday. We already have two bids from people who don't even feel the need to look before making a bid and others who are coming to view them today. You are very welcome to come today or tomorrow before noon (Storage site manager is only on site until noon on Sat.) and look at them.
If you do decide you want bid without seeing them, I will put your name in an envelope with today's date and time on it and then at the end of the day on Sat. (after having done the same for the rest of the folks wanting to come look) we will look inside the envelopes and sell it to the highest bidder. I welcome your viewing them because they are AS IS and not having owned them, I know nothing about them. Any bid you might decide to make will not be used to raise another persons bid...my husband won't even let me tell him the amounts of the two emailed bids. We want this to be as fair as possible.

We live in Clarksville and they are located at a storage facility we own near Ft. Campbell.
After reading the above if you are still interested in looking, contact me and I will give you the
address.

Sorry for the peculiar way this has turned out; we are trying to be fair since so many responded at the same time.

Just give it a week or so....after their "sealed bidding" is over. The high bidder will show up, nit-pick the items to death, retract his/her high bid, and counter a low-ball offer. The Craigslist sellers will refuse and contact the next high bidder, and the scenario will repeat. After a few rounds of this, the sellers will realize they fucked up.....the items will be relisted, but at a much higher asking price.......because, after all......there was a ton of "interest" before. End result.....Craigslist sellers = dumbasses!

And I guess I will let the cat out of the bag since I was there many months ago buying games from this storage facility, it is the old leftovers from the closed down Retro's Classic Arcade in Clarksville. Knew that as soon as I saw the pics....

Half of the games are "not empty" there's probably a handful that are missing monitors and stuff but there are spare parts in the place...the majority of them do have issues but the second email had all the good shit......another 9-10 machines to make the lot a bit more decent...

Yea, I'd be hesitant whenever someone says they "offered more $ site-unseen". That reeks of "let me get their attention and then once there I can low-ball them with cash".

So yep, I think Edward has hit this one on target.

I don't know...I offered them $2600 for the stuff sight unseen, and would have gone and taken it for that price whether I liked it or not. But I suppose I'm not typical. Something like this is really just a big gamble and once you place your bet, there's no backing out once you see your cards.

By the way, she told me that I was the second highest bid. (The highest bid, I gathered from her comments, was around $3000). I'm on the fence about it. I mean if the stuff is pristine and half of it works, it's well worth it. But if it's all missing boards and water damaged, it's a terrible loss.

Whoever he was, he was supposed to come and get it yesterday. If he didn't, I'm getting the stuff. I'll let you know if I hear anything in case anyone cares.

Well, I just heard from her and whoever the top bidder was paid her and picked up all the stuff. If it was someone here, could you fess up and let us know what all you got?

Thanks,
John

More CL seller shenanigans. If the morons wanted to turn this into an auction, then they should have put it all on ebay.

Agreed, but there are no listing fees on CL, and he got to have an auction anyhow. So, they're shady, but not stupid. That's why eBay wants CL to die a slow and painful death...which ain't gonna happen.

I was the highest bidder. I only beat you by $50-60.

I picked everything up yesterday, I already knew what was in this lot and where it was from because I am familiar with Retro's history and where things were purchased from...

Also, nothing in the lot was anything that wasn't on the previous list or the secondary email.....basically nothing "new" was found in there, just the stuff on the two lists.

Honestly, all I wanted was Pigskin...now we're going through this stuff to try and sell/trade/etc...

Hey John. I think you getting the stuff is a great idea. It works for me because it brings it all
closer to Detroit. :)
