Some how I only think this is an issue because it's an item that you want. If it's that big of a deal you should go look through all the Ebay auctions and start reporting the countless instances of shill bidding taking place every second of every day on Ebay.

It's a fruitless battle for a policy that is near impossible to enforce.

Let me be the first to say DUH! That's why he is pointing it out, had he not wanted the item he would have never been unaware of what the douche was doing.....enforceable, probably not. Does it go on 24/7, probably. Does that make it anything less than douchtastic? No.

Read the OP's previous post - he's already got the board he wants. But he's noticed that the seller is still listing and shilling his auctions. He's taken it upon himself to call attention to it now on principle alone.

Just because there are many instances of it happening doesn't mean each instance ins't against eBay policy. Shilling is a craptastic practice and I can't stand it.

Not sure what is going on but if you look through your last thread and compare all the 3 PCB's in question... they ARE all 3 different PCB's...

...perhaps this guy has a bunch of PCB's and the winner (Mr. 12 feedback) is buying them up? I see one where he didn't win too.

Nope same board each time. The one time where mR.s 12 feedback (was 10 feedback) the seller relisted the board saying he had a non paying bidder.

The point of me showing this one again was that despite the fact that he is blatantly shilling the board:

-He has been reported for shilling
-He uses the same account to shill all of his auctions
-Has sent messages through ebay saying he will only let it go if it goes for above $150.00
-He has all but admitted to shilling
-He has been reported multiple times

Ebay has done nothing. They do not seem to care when it is blatantly obvious.

At this point it is primcipal, and to a point comical to me that rather then setting a min price, or putting a reserve or setting a BIN/BO auction he goes through this. He avoids using tools there to get the price he wants but messes with this bullshit.

I also list it as a warning to others it isn't like there are a ton of folks that deal in arcade parts, it is good to know when one is a shiller.

No... it's not the same board each time. Take a look at the photos. One of the boards has a burned edge connector... of the other two non-burned edge connector boards each has a different serial number.

NOTE:

First board posted May 22nd...

See the burned edge at the bottom left?

Second board posted June 4th.

Note there is no burned edge at the bottom left?

Note the serial number 05754 (showing upside down)

Third board posted IS the same as the 2nd...

But consider the fact that the 2nd board was NOT won by the 12 feedback shill you can conceivably think that the buyer did not pay so he re-listed it.

Fourth board posted (current auction):

Note the serial number: C05457... not 05754...and it has feet attached to it whereas the others don't.

So... you have 4 auctions... and 3 separate boards... not sure if you're charge of shilling is as strong as you think.

I bought from Jay many times in Ebay or outside Ebay ,I met Jay in storage, picked up game before , he has a lot parts
I won a few his auctions ,I am the first and only bidder in most auction .
I do not know if he shill bidding or not ,I use snipe service to bid all auctions anyway ,put the price I like to pay .

For what it's worth, eBay takes shill bidding very seriously. If they think you're shilling, for the FIRST offense it's an automatic 30 day suspension - on every account you have ever touched or has touched your machine or IP address. Second offense is banned for life. Not just that account but YOU, your machine, your address, your phone number, your credit cards, your bank accounts, etc. They have pretty sophisticated tracking software that ties together every piece of your life in order to block you from coming back.

I know this because I did an eBay related startup company back in 2006-2008. Our system was tied heavily into the eBay API and PayPal API. I won't bore you with the details, but I can tell you I learned a lot about eBay's security and suspension system. Believe me they take shilling very seriously. I wouldn't risk it in a million years.

Not to say that someone very smart might be able to get away with it. But not many people are that smart. If this guy has been reported and eBay hasn't shut him down, they either can't prove it, or they have proven it not to be the case. I guarantee they are not ignoring the complaint.

My opinion...worth what you paid for it I'm sure....

Frizz good catch on those...

However in email communications the guy has all but admitted to shilling:

When asked at what point would he stop shilling it up, "I think I would need to get at least $150.00 to let it go"

On why he keeps listing the board over and over again:

"I'm not letting it go for less then $140.00..."

This one here was the cheapest one that he sold.

Now if I am wrong and there ins't shilling going on, fine, but not only based off what I have seen communications I, and others have had with him is pretty conclusive to me.

John-Thanks for the insight into ebay, I had always assumed they didn't care about shilling, and well this was affirming it, but it is nice to know that in your experience they take it seriously.

I know 2 of my co workers got their Ebay account closed because they shill bidding ,one got his account back after he email Ebay ,one did not .

I bought from Jay outside Ebay before ,sometimes he ask more than he is selling on Ebay or same price ,if I do not like his asking price ,I will watch his Ebay auction ,bid on his auction instead ,as I said before I am the only bidder in most auction I won .

If I do not like any seller's price or do not like how they do business,I will move on ,buy from other guys .
