Still have your first game?

1st game I ever bought, fixed and sold was food fight.. At the time I did not have the space nor did I really want it..

waited 25+ years to add one back to the collection.. I like to think I bought back the one I sold..

Yes, my first was a Frogger inside of a generic cabinet. I got it last summer and had a lot of fun making it look nice. I probably won't sell it anytime soon... it is a fun game and is lightweight. Makes it easy to move around, unlike my 300 pound Assault machine! But that is for another day.

Nope, I sold it two weeks ago to gotya here on the forums. It was a Pac-Man Cabaret and was a fun first for me. I ended up selling it so I could get a game that I've been wanting ever since I was 10 years old… a Ms. Pac.

To be honest I was a little nervous about selling the Pac Cabaret as I've heard many say you should never sell your first. However in this case I think it was worth the sentimental sacrifice.

Yup, my first was a Joust, bought it back in 2000. I converted it to a Multi Williams about 6 years ago but only changed the control panel. I will take that game to the grave- perhaps they can bury me in it!

LOL! That's what I told my family to do with me and my Atari Star Wars. Not only was it a game I've wanted since I was a kid but a future investment into my coffin!

My first game was a Kiss Pinball machine back in 2000, would only get rid of it for an absolute mint one. I've had it for the 10 years now, and it just feels like part of my home now.

My first cab was an original Donkey Kong (about 6 months ago), and like a lot of people here with their first game, I have more into it that what it's worth... but DK was the first video game I was ever hooked on as a kid, and my machine has been gone through by one of the best repair guys in the area, so I don't think I'd ever get rid of it now. I have also installed the DK2 kit which makes it even harder to get rid of. But if an absolute dead mint one came around for the right price, I don't know what I'd do! :)

And yes, the DK cab started my arcade collection and addiction, but for some reason my pinball machine didn't.. go figure.

Yep...still have it. Asteroids DLX cocktail that I got for free at a yard sale in Naknek, AK (you can only get there by boat or plane). Got it shipped back to Seattle for free. It worked after I replaced the five fuses! :)

Unfortunately I sold my first dedicated game... a Joust... to a fellow KLOVian. It's one of my regrets of the hobby.

Nope.
My first game was a Tempest that I bought off an ex room mate. I ended up selling it over 10 years ago, and bought a Dr. Who pinball. I still have the pinball, which I'll never get rid of. I've since restored 3 Tempests back from JAMMA conversions. I sold each one as I bought the next one for restoration.

Funny thing is that last year at the Seattle Pinball and Gameroom Show (shameless plug) I reconnected with the guy I sold my original Tempest to, and he still has it.

I've always wanted a Dr. Who pin. Any chance of posting some photos to drool over?

Same here. My first machine was DK. I got it back in 2001. Can't imagine getting rid of it. Like you, it was the first one I fell in love with BITD.

My first two games were bought together because I wanted some cool video room decorations - I was not into collecting games at the time...

This was in 1985. Went to an operators house and had the pick of what was in his garage. I picked an Exidy Venture and a Warlords cocktail. Mind you, this was 1985! They were both in Mint condition.

Had those two games from 1985 until about 1997 then sold / traded them when I became active in game collecting, and I was tired of them. Should've kept the Warlords though. Traded that for a Red Baron cockpit so I think it was a good trade. Sold Venture to a guy locally and it disappeared.

Do I still have the first game - I REALLY wanted and searched for?? YES! My Atari Lunar Lander.
