Hi, I just brought home a Who Dunnit pin, and after playing a few times I noticed the left flipper doesn't release as fast as it should. It never gets stuck at all, it just seems slow. I can repeatedly tap both flipper buttons at the same speed and the right flipper moves up and down but the left one just stays up. After I quit pressing the buttons it always comes back down. Seems like an electrical issue to me, but should I look at the button switch, the eos switch, or the coil itself?

You can swap the flipper button opto boards and see if the problem moves.

I would remove the coil stop, slide the coil out of the way. Then feel the end of the plunger and see if it has a sharp edge. Or mushroomed. If so time for new coil sleeve, plunger, and coil stop.

LTG :)

OK I swapped the flipper opto boards and the problem went to the other side. I took that board out and sprayed it with air duster, it seems a little better but I can't really tell. Does that mean i just need a new board or is there something I can do to this one?

A couple thoughts. clean it better, with a Q-tip sprayed with glass cleaner.

Make sure the opto interupter is getting back to rest fast when the flipper button is released - it may have lost some of it's springyness.

LTG :)
