Steve Wiebe's Donkey Kong 101 From Nw Pinball and Arcade show 2011..

Hopefully he sees that we aren't all bashing him as has been stated elsewhere (CAG, where I have to lurk because I don't know the secret handshake needed to register).

I only watched the first bit of the first video so far but am going to check it all out. It sounds like there are still some tips I didn't know about.

I have over 400 videos on Youtube myself and you have only two option:

1. Turn off the comments or
2. Ignore or delete all of the negative comments, no matter what the video is you will probably get some negative comments, some videos more than other.

I know it's hard to not take it personally, and get your feelings hurt, but you can't. It doesn't bother me at all now.

Thank you again for the videos,
steve

Who the heck put this here?????????? Does'nt get it HAHAHA Simpleton99

I have been here since 2004 and this is just Rude too the highest Level.

Next time i will not take the time too make Videos like this and share them with the world.

I will let the 50 people that where in the room be the only one that saw what Steve had too say.

Or Just not share them here on KLOV. Maybe it's one A-HOLE that wrecks things for everyone ?

Seriously, the internet is a hackfest. People post because they can. They want to get a rise out of you. Don't let it get to you. I appreciate your post as do a lot of people. You are 100 times as likely to receive a negative comment than a positive one online.

My friend and I watched Hank Chien play Donkey Kong at Funspot this past weekend. It was freaking mind-boggling. My friend is starting to play DK competitively. He is not on the forums so I wanted to personally relay the fact that he is very happy you posted these vids. Thanks!!

First of all i want too thank everyone that left the feedback they liked the videos and they enjoyed them.

The Thumbs down on the ratings is what hurts the most.

I'm glad they are getting talked about and they are being watched i guess there might be draw back too that.

Atlas ty for your friend I'm allways trying too help a player get better. People have helped me in the past .. I would like to do the samething in Return too help others.

To answer a couple of the questions I've gotten here.. There was a couple of things i did'nt know about DK that i know now.. But it takes time too master everything. I have been playing alittle of DK since coming home from the Show.

I play DK inbetween games of DKJR Kind of a change of pace kind of thing.

About the other site and getting added on you Need too contact Mark A *from KOK Fame* it's his site.

It tolk awhile for him too add me on.. *he is a busy guy* I feel at home there the greatest players are chatting and showing there videos .

Don't let it get you down, man. I got a thumbs down on my gameroom vid in my signature. It's a video of a home gameroom- just like it says in the description I posted on YouTube. How someone could give it a thumbs down is beyond me. You can't please everyone, I guess.

Thanks for recording. I'll be sure to check it out tonight.

Steve Wiebe's Donkey Kong 101 From Nw Pinball and Arcade show 2011..

I guess most people are miss understanding there is like 8 parts too this!!

There is 2 times the watches for the first then the 2nd .

I think the questions for everything started at Part 6 or something like that.

I allmost found the questions part more interesting then how to play DK it's self.

Thats where the hidden parts of the gameplay kinda come out.

I think Steve was going too an easy walk though the DK Levels.. But he realized he had some really great players there watching.

some of the players there watching Walter Day,Ken House, His Sons,George R *DK3 WR Holder*Me Simpsons99 aka Brian Allen Many others.

There was one guy near the end that negtive too the Point Pressing... He came up behind me when i was doing a DKJR WR TRY. He felt the point pressing was wrecking the games for him. Thats how your going all those scores is sitting around getting all those 300 and 400 point scores over and over.

He did understand it tolk an art/skill to be able to all of that without Dieing all over the place.

I attended the DK101 class he put on in Chicago and it helped me go from 107k to over 200k literally overnight. I'm now up over 300k I'm hopeful that the few things I'm picking up in this newer class will help me inch closer to 500k. It's amazing what a simple tip can do for your score and your lives.

My biggest problem was the Level 3 springs. Not level 4, but level 3. That's because I was trying to do Level 3 Spring like Level 2 ala just climb the ladder, stand there and then make a run up the top ladder. This often ended in death.

Just this past week I decided to do the Level 3 spring like Level 4 (which I rarely die on). Climb the ladder, run to the safe spot, run up the ladder when appropriate. This has been working very well for me. I beat my high score which was nice. I'm still around 129,000 but getting better.

The high score save kit has helped as well. It's fun to challenge myself and try to get the best possible scores on there.

I get tagged every once in while on the Level 3 springs. I typically run to the safe spot, then wait for the high bouncing spring to run. I usually only get tagged when I just run on any old spring, and then it's only once in a blue moon.

Which brings me to another point. I die too damn much on level 3. I don't know what it is about that level, but if I lose a man before I reach level 5, its almost always on level 3.

At least I'm not alone! I think my goal is to complete level 5 by the end of the month. Doesn't sound too tough, perhaps, but I've never done it. This is assuming I keep my pace of 4 to 5 games a night.

There are some good tips and discussion there. I'll most likely continue to lurk.

Some of us appreciate it so don't remove them. As someone else already stated if you post something on the web be prepared for any and all comments.

If you let them know it bothers you that just makes it worse.

Brian,

Please don't keep worrying about the negative posts. You did a cool thing filming and posting this event. You could post a video of a cute puppy and get negative posts and thumbs down. I wouldn't waste any more of your time even thinking about it. Read the positive posts and enjoy them. Ignore the negative. Welcome to the Internet.

Good luck on that Jr. Record!

Jeff

I enjoyed the videos and find them pretty informative. Thank you for the youtube uploads and I would not worry about the negatives.
