Awesome videos EXCEPT who's the annoying person in the video, making comments and sound effects, etc, etc?? Please tell me it's not you..

I'm totally gonna watch these later tonight. I arrived Saturday, just as the doors closed and the seminar began.

Steve Wiebe's Donkey Kong 101 From Nw Pinball and Arcade show 2011..

First off

Steve Wiebe thanked me after everything was done for all the questions and everything.

I did take an hour and half of my time away from the DKJR WR Trys for this Video's

There is no way you watched all of this yet.

I'm sure there is going too be negtive feedback on the video.. I did this so everyone could see it around the World.
My arm could have been resting inbetween DKJR WR Trys but i was holding this camcorder for an hour and half.

Don't take the negative comment to heart. It was a cool move for you to record it. I know you know a lot of the tricks already. Did you pick up any.thing new?

It is cool that you recorded this Brian, but it wasn't necessary. All seminars at the Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show are professionally recorded and posted online free of charge for people to see. We do not have this year's seminars up yet, since they need to be edited and have the audio cleaned up, but they should be online soon.

Once online I suggest everyone takes a look at the videos of Rich Lint (Rikitiki, talked on the screen printing process mianly) and Lindsey (talked specificly about Bally pinball board repairs, but his techniques and insights can help fledgling repair techs understand the big picture). Someone will post links to the seminars on KLOV and RPG as they become available...

Great stuff, thanks for sharing!! I only watched a little but I'll watch the rest later tonight when I have time.

You didn't happen to get any of the Tron pinball presentation by Borg/stern did you? I've love to see that!

Anyone know if Weibe will be at CAX?

Arrggghhhhhh,, DUDE, it was you!!!
Then let me apologize!!!!!
Totally appreciate the video!!!

I knew you can easily control the barrels, But did NOT know that you can also control them while standing on the ladder!!! Great tip!

steve

Most everyone i talked with at the Event and afterwords are happy that i recorded this

If you don'nt know I'm part of the conpetive gamers on other Fourm.

The bigtime DK players are happy i recorded this ... I guess Steve Weibe had only done this one other time on the east cost and it was'nt recorded .

If you don'nt like the commentary or the questions being asked then don'nt watch the video's.

I had a person do the Thumbs down on the first video.. That is really dishearting after all the time i have spent. Recording these and Editing them..

Like i said before Steve Weibe liked the questions everyone was asking.. It made this alot easyer on him ..

Plus the questions where more geared too the pro players .

Just leave the commentary out next time! :D

Who the heck put this here?????????? Does'nt get it HAHAHA Simpleton99

I have been here since 2004 and this is just Rude too the highest Level.

Next time i will not take the time too make Videos like this and share them with the world.

I will let the 50 people that where in the room be the only one that saw what Steve had too say.

Or Just not share them here on KLOV. Maybe it's one A-HOLE that wrecks things for everyone ?

I appreciate what you did as I would not have even known that event happened. Don't worry about those idiots who posted the tags. Some idiot posted a tag that is was "too funny" in my thread that a tree fell on my truck, so I know how you feel.

Thanks again!

Don't sweat the negative comments. What you did was cool as hell. Plus you're a bad ass at DK Jr.

I just watched the first one and it's suprizing (to me) that he says that, when moving from the 4th girder to the 5th girder on the barrel board, its safer to go up the ladder on the right than the one on the far left. When I go up that right ladder I always worry about a quick barrel b-lining it to me. I'll have to start trying that right ladder more.

After watching Chien and Wiebe on the barrels, I realized that counter-intuitive as it may be, it's safer to go up the right ladder. That being said, it sure isn't THAT much safer--it's like 10% safer, not 90% safer. On the plus side, you get a better look at the wild barrels and once you get to the top of that ladder you're in a pretty safe area.

The bad news about going up that ladder is that it's longer so you spend more time on it. Then you have a longer run left to get the hammer. It will pull barrels down the ladder by kong and that can wind up giving you barrel spacing that's impossible to deal with. Also, running that far left to get the hammer, you really have to keep an eye on Kong.

Kudos to simpson for putting this up--I video taped a wedding once and that was about the most excruciating thing--to hold your arm up and try to be steady for that long is murder. I for one applaud the time you put into this for no reason other than to help others. Thanks a TON!

BTW, the one thing I learned is that it's possible to jump the oil drum fire in the middle of the pies. Hmmm...

Yeah, the oil drum jump is a cinch after playing Donkey Kong II. I've actually used it to good effect every once in a blue moon.

As for the top left spot on the ladders, I don't get hit there that often but it is one of those unpredicatable spots. I can see how using that right ladder might save you a life or two in a kill screen game. I usually hang near the middle on that 4th girder and control the barrels down the far right ladder then make a fast break up the left ladder, immediately grab the hammer. It helps to be as far left as possible when grabbing that hammer because sometimes Kong will drop a barrel directly down that left ladder and you barely dodge it by being to the far left. After grabbing the hammer I book it out of that top left corner. Usually I get by on this but I'm going to give the right ladder a try. I hear what you're saying about the barrel onslaught that can happen when you're running left to grab the hammer.

I actually have mixed feelings about exposing myself to all these tips from the best players but I'm so close to 500k, any little bit helps.
