i just got a stern trident in a trade, working 100%, but the playfield is shot, paints peeling and flakeing, all the inserts have sunk and have quite a bit of wear around them, this is my first pin so forgive the newb questions, ive looked for another trident playfield for sale but have found nothing, so my question is what should i do with it? can i put a different playfield in it other than trident? should i just part it out?i dont know what the parts from this are even worth, id hate to part it out as the cabinet and everything is in pretty good shape, but its not very playable, id appreciate any suggestions thanx, ben

Hey, I have a Stern Magic with the exact same problem.

Playfields and parts do come up occasionally (I'm chasing a lead for a playfield at the moment).

I doubt it's worth much parting it out.

Really depends how bad it is. You'll make more money parting it out than selling it whole if the playfield is trashed.

You could wait on another playfield. Something might come up but if you need to have it shipped it could get kind of expensive.

An NOS playfield may come up but then you're looking at a ton of time, a big expense and still a semi undesirable game.

Tough call.

if u wanna even out the playfield and inlays.
could clear on the thick side then plane/ sand back down flat flush, then 1 more layer thin clear. technically that woudl do it
