Stern Super Cobra

Any thoughts on this one?

I've found a few of them but always always converted to something else. I have a "Cook Time" game which is a Burger Time clone in a cabinet that I plan to restore back to Super Cobra glory (all of which will be documented in a quick-cut super-fast documentary style).

I love this game and as you can see by my avatar I am a true fan. I have seen one for sale here in the midwest for at least a year. Even the PCB is hard to find. Good luck with your search.

I am in the Midwest. Wood River IL. I just got one. All original. Not working. I still have to test it, but believe it is the power supply. In good condition. Not sure if you were looking for one to have or not.

I may still be interested. Haven't found one since the time I first started this post. Can you post some pics?

Here are a few shots. I haven't tested anything because I just got it. Supposedly the neck glows. It has a k4600 monitor with some super cobra burn. Had a switching power supply which has no 5volt out. Person gave me a used replacement stern linear the bought for it as well as manual copies they bought. There is no coinbox and it needs a new coindoor lock. Glass is pretty good. Control panel has some scratches but can still make everything out fine.
Sides ar fair. One side had some damage in the middle but not terrible.

I haven't decided what to do with it yet. Because it's still original part of me wants to fix it that way and the other part says make into a 60. Ethier way I don't plan to keep it.

I'll chime in with the obligatory plea: aw, man! Don't 60 that one! At this point, there are more 60s than Super Cobras out there. Such a great art package on it too. At least if you are going to go the multi route, get a Konami > Jamma adapter and don't mod the control panel. Or just do whatever you prefer with your games!

I have that set-up in my Scamble, Original board still mounted, ArcadeSD mounted above that with the adapter. No mods to control panel, etc.

Worth way more as a Super Cobra from just a money aspect. Your almost already there as to being complete. What a great candidate for a full up restoration too. I mean if it had been converted 5 times, all hacked up, Control panel drilled up, no original marquee, sides painted black with 3 different art packages, then yea sure, 60 the hell out of it. But don't paint over a Rembrandt. Ask yourself, how many of these do you see or come across anyway???

Supra Cobra only ever had the Stern stencils for side art, right? Would have been cool to see if they had gone with something akin to the Scramble spaceman vibe.
