I got a routed Stern Spider-man a few weeks back @ auction and like the game, but really liked TOM when I played it at the Pinball HOF a few weeks back. I have a local standing offer to trade straight up. Th Spidey cabinet is in very nice shape except for wear around the start button. The TOM IMO is in a tad bit better shape overall. I think both are worth relatively the same $$ wise, what do you guys think ? Either way I'm not going to keeping the Spider-man since the wife doesn't like it and I'm impartial on it. She wants a Tron and I want a Monster Bash. I almost just want to sell it and get $$ to buy a new Tron Pro then pimp it out like an LE, but there is a place for the TOM as well. Hmmmmm decisions decisions... I also have a LOTR & was leaning towards something other than a Stern to play as well.
Thanks Guys and Gals

Chris

Yep that's what I'm leaning towards, I'll look in the game-room everyday and say geez a MB, and tron would look great in there.

Do you think the value of these 2 are relatively the same ?

I would 100% make that trade only because ToM is a huge personal favorite of mine.

I feel the spiderman will also slowly lose its value. It's not that great. A lot of locals here I play pinball with don't like it. I've come across a few games with multiple credits left on it. Not a good sign

Do the trade and get the TOM. Down the road finding a SM will be easier than getting a TOM. TOM has a better light show than SM but the final mode in TOM is not all that great. Both are good games. I like how SM plays better than TOM. 5 years from now I would expect a TOM to have a higher value than a SM.

Get what you want for sure...but for shit's n giggles what is my preference?

Spiderman > ToM by a lot

...but it's also Apples and Oranges. They are very different, but do what they do well. TOM is actually one of the most flow friendly games I've played, so much so that I do my best not playing capture/control but just making shots on the fly. Even more flow friendly than most Ritchie games (and we're comparing it to Spiderman)! I love Spiderman and could talk about it forever, but one con is that ball times can be very long.
