Stern Scramble vs. Universal Cosmic Avenger. Ready? FIGHT!

Too strange, that was exactly as it was here, in this little town of 5000, we had 2 Scramble machines at one time and I still have never seen an actual CA game, just the Coleco cart I still have from when it was new.

To this day the only one I've seen is at Grinkers. I'm sure there was one at the different CAX events I've been to, but I evidently never took notice.

I owned a Cosmic Avenger and you are correct. The gameplay is terrible. I have also played Super Cobra and it is one of the most brutally hard, unfun games I have ever played. I have never played Scramble so if I was a lookin', that would be the one I'd grab.

Super Cobra is the sequel to Scramble and nearly the same, just has more levels. May play a bit faster too. Both are great imho.

Yeah, maybe. The Berzerk I had looked more like a plaster wall than painted plywood.

Mine is akin to what Friz referenced, just the paint on the plywood, not the most careful application but it's held up well these 36+ years...

I'm curious about Stern's serial numbering process and what other's cabs have. On mine, the left side panel and front panel have a number (5620) stamped into them, though I can't find another number stamped anywhere else on it. There is an aluminum tag nailed on the back of the top panel with a different number (1124).

Scramble. Was one of the first games I bought at a local auction house. Still regret selling it but I am sure I will run across another some day.

Thanks for outing it to the world Mike. Game has been on CL for a couple of months. I finally have space and cash and time to pull the trigger and it's gone a day later. My fault for starting a seemingly innocent thread about it but still....you're killing me!

haha no way, the day he lowered it from $500 to $350, i expected it to be gone instantly!

The aluminum tag is likely an operators asset tag...
