Ok, I received my first NIB Yesterday, TRON, and I was curious if swapping the factory speaker with a Stern sub is worth the $100 or so that Ive seen them for?

Thanks
Scott

Yes. The bass addition is subtle yet powerful. I hesitated to add one, glad i did though - especially in Tron (same game here) - the game has lots of noticeable lows.

Yeah, Ive been debating adding both - The shakers can be cool.

Now, $100 isnt too bad for a sub add on, but I have to ask - Has anyone just looked for an 8" replacement thats cheaper? :)

For Contrast:

My Stern Iron man has a shaker, without Updated sub + Speaker.

Tron has updated sub + speaker, but no shaker.

So, i have time in to see which feels better.

If i could only have one - updated sub + speaker, the sub is not as drastic a shake, but its enough for me, + i get the updated sound.

Since I will likely do both, Ill do the sub first since its a fairly cheap mod :)

I have shakers in all my pins. I have only installed a FF complete speaker kit in my Tron LE. The improvement was amazing. Next weekend I planning on getting speaker kits for my SM and IM too.

All my sterns are pimped to the hill. Only missing speakers on sm and im which i will get next weekend. The backbox kits are a great add on as the factory lamp is garbage.
They all have shakers, backbox kits, fully done in leds, mods, etc. I dont hav toppers as i tend to shake them too much. Lol

Great link - Of course now I want the backglass mods too .. DOH! Oh well, its just money, right?

I put the Flipper Fidelity complete set in my IM. I like it. It won't blow you away, mainly because you only have a few amps powering the speakers, but I believe it to be an improvement. Most likely will get another set for my TF when it gets here. Debating whether I should put them on my FGY, but I'm not sure the sounds and music on that game warrant an upgrade. The farts might be more bassy, which would be cool, but...

I have the shaker on my IM. I had that first. I would definitely go with that before a speaker upgrade if price is not an issue. I can't even play an IM now without a shaker, it's just not the same.

I picked up 2 kits last night when I was down Michaels house playing TFs last night. TFs will benefit from the kit, no doubt. The music and sound effects are just nuts and we didn't even see a lot of modes.

I will try and get my kits installed today on IM and SM.

Well you wouldn't believe this. My IM 2 speakers were never hooked up. The Z clip that joins the 2 male section of speaker wires was missing. I can't believe I was playing IM for a year with only sound coming out of the bottom speaker.
I had to go over to a buddys house and have him make me a clip that would work, put the FF speakers in both IM and SM and big improvement.

Well ya because they were never hooked up but in SM there was a big difference as well.

I put IM on the LOW side for the sub and SM gets the HIGH. Tron LE I also have on LOW as the bass vibrates the glass too much.
