Stern Minefield issies, missing sounds and brown and blue backgrounds

With missing sounds it could be a bad amp, but what else?

Also for the missing blue and brown background, where on the pcb would the cause of that be for starters?

I'm using a standard Konami jamma adapter, I wonder if the sound pinout is different for the older Sterns, and that's why there is no sound. I have another older stern pcb with no sound as well.

ahhhhhh, so the sound pinouts are different. No wonder I wasnt getting any sound on my Rescue or Minefield.

As for the missing red and blue colors in the background, where on the pcb should I check to see if there is an issue?

The background RAMs for Scramble are 3J and 3K.

No idea if this helps for Minefield. ;)

2114 RAMS often fail.

Just shorten pins 11-14 to ground to see if something happens. ;)

Well, finally got around to trying to fix my Minefield pcb. I am positive the sound works now, but I am still missing the blue and brown background colors.

I changed and socketed all the 2114 rams on the video and sound board, there were 6 in total, it didn't help anything.

Other then missing the background colors of the sky and ground, all the other details and colors of the game are present.

What should I be looking for now?

Hmm, normally there are 8 2114s on the video board? 4 CPU RAM (1G-1K), 2 BG (3K,3J), and 2 sprites (3M, 3L).

Waht about the multiplexers @ 4H & 4G? Inputs present @ the 'A's? 256H present @ pins1?
